This is a weird one, Route has been stop start in driver for a while. Was ok in Surveyor. But now it is affecting the whole route in both Surveyor and Driver. Suspect Graphic card ???
Maybe delete route and re install from CDP file. A bit drastic but may fix whatever is damaged. Radeon 6700XT graphic card.

@Sean_lee >>> You're missing the animation.kin file for whatever asset that is.
Post the kuid of the asset that is throwing that error, so we can see what's what.

But I dont know which asset is creating the problem, could be anything.
You're stating in your original post that a specific route (which has a kuid number) is throwing that error.
Post the route kuid here, like I asked before, so someone can help you.

Sorry I misunderstood I thought it was a asset within the route. This is my route which I have built over many years.
Route <kuid:167056:100012>
Session attached <kuid:167056:100224>
Thanks again.

As the missing file is "anim.kin" that is possibly a drivers file for a loco in your session. You might list the dependencies for your session and see if any are faulty. You might also swap out any locos in the session.

That said, anim.kin was commonly used by animated assets made in GMax so it could be anything in your route. What puzzles me is why it just manifested itself as a problem in a route and session you said you have been building for years. So it would have to be a recent change.

I can't see how a missing kin file would affect your graphics card.

Agree its quite odd, I loaded the session today and it worked without issue. I did update the Graphic card this morning but it did not solve the problem at the time. It was like a stop start lag. Also mid session my computer shut down ??? Restart and still impossible to use. Trainz was taking ages to try and change anything, which made think a graphics issue. I went to the Logs file and found the anim.kin and texture failed to load 20 lines. I know I had to do major edits when I could not save to CDP deleting base boards. As I was over 1200mb in size Now back under 950mb. So this I will keep an eye on, maybe a local hardware issue having problem??

Sean it's not necessarily your video card that can cause lag like this. There could be a hard disk problem, and in particular SSDs because if they start to cause slow loading and poor performance, back everything up immediately because that's a sure sign of imminent failure!

Other things that can cause this:

A full hard drive.
A failing power supply - this can also affect your video card.
Bad RAM.

I would go with the hard drive first, and definitely back things up right away.

Everything backed up to CDP/ have been editing out alot of Baseboards to get below the 1GB limit so I can save . Route sitting at 950mb now. Have had to clean up alot of sight line where the world ends. They really need to increase the limit for CDP saves, as routes get bigger and more detailed.
I have a feeling what caused the issue was a micro power failure of Milliseconds when the computer shut down, really mixed things up. Even screen resolution was reset, which had me stumped for a while. Still a bit Laggy at times like the graphic card is trying to catch up, then it will run ok. Got to go thru the hard drive and cull out some stuff, have to be careful because the last time I did that I deleted everything. Trainz Plus was hiding in the TANE folder. Full re install was that outcome and the downloading etc etc.

You should get yourself a UPS. Best Buy and Staples have those. Get one that's big enough to support your PC, external drives and your display. This will give you time to shutdown should there be a complete power failure and will prevent sags and surges from hurting your hardware.

Cleaning up old stuff can indeed cause issues if you clean up the wrong stuff. If you've been doing a lot of editing, I recommend clearing your backups folder within your Trainz data-folder wherever that may be.

Since I have my PLUS data located on my F: drive, this is the path where the backups folder is located.

F:\TRS-PLUS_DATA\backups

Under this folder are dated-folders. You can delete the oldest ones and then empty the recycle bin to completely remove the old backups. These will definitely eat up disk space and more so with larger HD terrain routes.

Once you've deleted the backups and emptied the recycle bin, defragment your hard drive. This will help with loading times if it's a regular drive and help slow down the wear down of your SSD if you are using that. Windows Defrag utility automatically detects SSDs and TRIMs them, not defrags them even though it's the same utility.
