Welcome to the forums and to Trainz. Much like a model railroad, Trainz projects, i.e. routes and their sessions, can be projects for a lifetime. Trainz projects, much like model railroads in real life and real railways too, take a very long time to complete with the former never reaching completion much the same as a Trainz route.
Building a Trainz route this size is nearly impossible due to technical reasons in addition to human ones. A route like this would take as long to build as the original did in real life.
If you are interested in building a route, by all means do so. We highly recommend starting small, one baseboard at a time, and plan on throwing away your first attempts.
Once you get used to the tools, start building your route of your dreams.
