Hi TrackSupervisor

Excellent Layout,However any chance of finishing the Illawarra Line From Kiama To Bomaderry.

Thanks

Thanx Robert2004

With all the things I need to do in the rest of this life, there is little time in which to do them.
I took on the present route creation as a favour for a friend. I had no idea what I was doing and so learned to wing my way through it as I progressed.
As a result after many man-hours, what you see is what you get. I am not as good as most of the other creators in these forums, but I was willing to give it a go.
As for the future, and any more additions to this route, only time will tell.
Cheers

Hi all

As with previous routes it is free to do with as you wish.
A simple session will soon follow

ps - and yes there is a simply missed issue. Splines (fence & dirt track) are at higher heights wrt track along the Calwalla section. Annoying but you can adjust to suit look & feel.

Hi Tracksupervisor,

Downloaded the route and CM reports the following as Unknown:

Unknown Location: <kuid:429700:100186>
Unknown Location: <kuid:429700:100193>

As they are under your kuid are they available or can we delete them from the config file?

Cheers

Ron

Hi tracksupervisor, I've downloaded your latest Version 2.1 but I found two different tracks laid side by side o sections of the layout. One is visible and the other isn't. Maybe I need to upload the invisible one from the DLS to enable it to be seen. In Surveyor mode I cannot identify the track you have used in the usual way by right clicking the track. Can you enlighten me with the track name please? I really don't want to re-lay the track. Thanks.

Yeah Ron
There are a couple of assets esp. splines that I used on the route that are modified clones of other creators' works. but which cannot be made available until I get permission to do so
<kuid:429700:100193> and its associated dependency <kuid:429700:100186> can be deleted if you wish as they don't affect the route in any way. It's just a look thing that I am working on. I was trying to create an overhead catenary without wire that gave impression of being constructed.
Else you can replace <kuid:429700:100193> with built-in asset <kuid:-12:307> Catenary Double 40m

cheers

Yeah I know of a few minor issues but not exactly sure where you are seeing this.
There is dual track laid from Coniston to Unanderra to Dombarton and I guess if this is what you refer to then you need assets
NSW Concrete Sleeper Track Greasy,<kuid:60723:100216> by davido Just Google "Worrybrook Station". Download is free but you can make a donation if you wish. You will also find many other interesting items of NSW prototype.
&/or
NSW ML Timber Stain 2.5m,<kuid2:61119:38297:1> by natvander on the DLS

cheers

OK guys & others
If you have downloaded this route, then if you wish, you can download session
ISR_5500 Export Wheat: The Harvest is In (ride) (dls),<kuid:429700:100375>
which has been uploaded to the DLS

Description
"A simple driver session to use with route NSW Illawarra & Southern Highlands

Wheat & coal are transported to and despatched from the loaders at Port Kembla Harbour. The harvest is in, so you have to deliver & unload this wheat train at the PK Grain Terminal. Sound simple? Probably - but you'll be on the brakes most of the way down the escarpment.
Note that the line below Dombarton is partly closed to traffic due to maintenance. Just remember your load is heavy, it has been a wet & wild night and the escarpment from Summit Tank to Unanderra is steep. Reports indicate there is a situation above the Tank, so best be on your guard as you approach it. Obey all warning signs & speed restrictions where in place.

There are no speed checks, but most signals/points are under session or AI control.
Session ends after the unload is complete.
Care to drive this session? Just clear the schedule and take total control.
Level of difficulty: relatively easy
Duration: approximately 2hrs 55mins

If you don't read English, I hope the embedded language translations are reasonably correct <g>

Don't you just hate it. This may not appear in your copy but...
I found an issue on the my copy of the route near Kiama Turntable.
Seems a section of track has disappeared and jct KI_D_J2 isn't where it is supposed to be.
How it ended up at Dombarton beats me. Anyway you will need to do the edit as I'm getting peeved with what my version of Trainz does without me knowing.
Use the get track tool and join from spline point at KI_UT_J2 to the spline point between here and KI_D_J4, put in correct levers and relabel points.
Straighten any track for correct alignment.
Sorry for this inconvenience. If you find any more issues let me know. Might have to post another update to DLS.

To all those who may be interested in NSW Illawarra & Southern Highlands

I have always tried to make my route interesting and look somewhat real. Assets have been selected as and when I find them.
You know what I mean here, there is so much to choose from both on the DLS & in the public domain
but it takes many hours of searching to find the one that looks just right. As I haven't yet progressed to asset construction,
I thank all those out there that have created all those useful bits & pieces I have included in my route(s).
As a result I have livened NSW Illawarra & Southern Highlands up a bit more and will soon post Version 3.0 while still keeping the same look & feel
This includes, but is not limited to:
1. Changed all catenary stanchions and overhead wires to NSW equivalents from davido #60723
2. Named all mainline signals to something akin to the real thing - thanks to pgibbons #68830
3. Removed some hidden annoying splines that were causing Trainz to fall over when merging routes
4. Added many more scenery assets
5. Added some interactive industries
6. Re-aligned track at several locations
7. Changed invisible speed signs to a more manageable type from miko #128319
8. Included all credits to appropriate creators in the config file
9. Electrified the PK Coal Terminal to enable use of electric locos NSW 86 Class (eg like those by nswgr_46class #73150) which haul coal down from NSW regional mines10.Electrified a loop in each of Cringilla & North PK yards - not exactly to prototype
11. The Dombarton line shows part electrification-under-construction in line with what was proposed for the Dombarton-Maldon link
12. The PK Harbour loop shows part electrification-under-construction as it appears todayLook for <kuid:429700:100441> on the DLS in the not too distant future. It is free to use as you wish.
To all those who download the route and find there are missing assets (most are readily available), send an email to my offsider
at ericpearce52@gmail.com who will assist as best he can. Or you can search at http://www.trainzkuidindex.com/ and download in your own time.

Like previous versions of this route, you can easliy merge with picton2goulburn <kuid:68830:100201> from pgibbons
with minimal spline and texture rework and the merge interface.
Meantime, I'm working on a couple of simple sessions to use with this version which should give you, the Driver, an overview of the layout.

Cheers
