NOTICE: I'm closing my web site down

Hi If you go to the bottom of the page you will see a Home icon if you click on here you get taken to where you can download content

The icon button just takes me to the master page, nothing more.

I was already on a subpage and want to download the route/layout. This is not available on the other subpages, there are only collections of single objects.

The text on top of the layout page seems to indicate that the route/layout should be available for download on the page I referred to. At least there are hints that your PC could be taken to its limits etc. by this layout.

Regards

Guido

Hate to see you go Rick. Wish you all the best.

For those that don't know, many of Ricks creations are at the TPR Download Depot.

Hi Rick,
I just went there but on http://www.geocities.com/thegrindre/page5routes.html I cannot find any button to download the layout, only some screenshots. I possible I would like to save the layout as well.
Guido

To the best of my knowledge Rick's layout is still a work in progress. Hopefully he might still release it (even if it's not completed) before he closes his web site.
I'm particularly interest in finding out where he got that little steamer that's pulling a couple of full log wagons across the bridge...
Hopefully Rick will allow JohnK or someone else within the community to host his content.
I'm sure we all wish Rick the very best in whatever he pursues.
Hopefully Rick will be adopting one of Arnold Schwarzenegger famous lines; "I'll be back" :hehe:
All the best Rick...
Cheers, Mac... :p

Hi all,
Listen, anybody who wants to host my content is welcomed to do so. You have my permission. As far as helping you set things up, I'm not that interested in doing it but you all may host any of my models you want to.
I built all these things so we all could have fun with them and that's what they were designed for. So, let's have fun. Host away. Enjoy! If you want to keep my models alive, be my guest.

My route was never finished. It's still a WIP but if anybody wants this little thing, PM an e-mail and I'll e-mail it to you.

Later,
Rick

That leaves me out! I'm not interested in a free-for-all. Either I do it properly or I won't do it at all. The deal I offered was to look after your site properly for you, not to grovel and pick up the pieces or host stuff being hosted on other sites. Sorry, but my offer is now withdrawn and your site including your tutorials will be removed from the Trainz Resources Directory permanently.

I only kept my MTS for the Belfast-Dublin route which I like and know well from visits to Ulster. I wouldn't want to go back to MTS in any meaningful way as I still think that novice route builders like me can do things in Trainz we couldn't do in MTS. My present compete city build of Glasgow and it's former widespread tramway could never have been contemplated on MTS and I am happy with the degree of realism. Free websites are abvailable elsewhere too as a matter of interest. Pity to see someone going but MTS? Even MS have ditched it!

...Sorry, but my offer is now withdrawn and your site including your tutorials will be removed from the Trainz Resources Directory permanently.
Now, this is what I like to see. A mad trainzer. Welcome aboard the 'mean and nasty' choo choo.
With an attitude like that, I'm glad I didn't pick you to host anything, John.
As I said, I don't care what you do. I'm closing the site down and quitting Trainz so, be as mean and nasty as you please.
I could care less.

On a nicer note, I've received 3 e-mails so far about my route. I'll try to get it out to you guys this week. (You all have PM's.)

Rick

I do hope you return some day Rick. If not I wish you all the best with what ever you do. I'm sure many future trainzers will enjoy your content. I'll keep your content at the depot until there is no longer a desire for Trainz. :)

Take care

I've received 4 PM's asking for my route. I've sent all four of you my route so check your e-mail. Hopefully, you have all received it.

Enjoy!

:)

Actually I wasn't being as mean and nasty as I please. I simply offered to host your site for nothing and you didn't even bother to reply. You simply followed up with a post stating that you couldn't care less and that anybody could do what they liked with your site. I responded by saying that my offer was withdrawn because I wasn't prepared to waste my bandwidth in a free for all. If you wish to jump in the deepest lake you can find, that's fine by me.

It's great that you offered to host his site but did you bother to find out why he is closing it ? Rick didn't respond to you on your offer because he has some very personal reasons why he is closing down. That is why he said that anyone who wants to can host his content.

No, I didn't bother and he didn't bother to share that information with us. The guy is welcome to close his site down, he's also welcome to have personal reasons for doing so. He's also allowed to be rude - but not on this forum.

I also had the right to rescind my offer. I did so because I had offered to host the whole site at my expense, not co-host it, or parts of it with dozens of others.

I didn't realise we needed a crystal ball to read posts in this forum, but thanks for sharing this valuable information with me. I feel so much better now and my heart goes out for poor old Rick.

Would you mind going and finding another thread to cause trouble in, JohnK???
Get the heck outta of my thread, will ya???

Out of the kindest of my heart, I've notified everybody that I'm closing my web site down and have offered to anyone that wants to keep my models alive to do so...
Now, what's your problem???????

If you don't mind, I'd like the get this thread back on topic. Thank you.

Sincerily,
Rick

P.S. I've sent my route off to two others who have requested it. Check your e-mails, guys...

:)

Good Luck in the future.

Hi all,
I know this thread is old but after a PC crash I need to get in touch with the folks that volunteered to host my website and have taken over my route. I need to DL all my old stuff back again if possible.
Can anyone help with a link?
