Northern Arizona Route

Thanks for the comments.

I own an iPad but I don’t own Trainz for iPad. I don’t mind because it gives me another little yard track next to my name. I tried Trainz driver (iPhone) for about 15 minutes and haven’t touched it since. As far as your question, I have Trainz for Mac. TSMac sits in limbo somewhere between TS10 and TS12. We cannot create CDPs as well as a few other annoying limitations. It’s what I’ve got and it doesn’t stop me from continuing to work on this route. Someday, if things don’t change with TSMac, I would have to get my route file to someone with a PC version. That someday is a long ways off.

Well at least Im not alone here when it comes to the Mac Version. Your route is amazing!!! I look forward to seeing the finished product. Keep up the great quality work on it GNdome55. :D

OK, I'll ask. What's the significance of the barium and radium? And why are those 2 guys having a barbeque dressed in radiation suits? I'm guessing they are a team that inspects the rails for faults using radiation of some kind, but I'm not sure.
Deane, out of context the screen shot would make no sense. The American TV series Breaking Bad ended a five-year run a few weeks ago. The show was filmed in and around Albuquerque New Mexico. I won’t go into the premise of the show but a recurring theme was the two main characters in hazmat suits as well as their RV out in the desert. On a side note, at times the show’s desert cinematography was stunning. I couldn’t help but think of the similar red rock terrain (Colorado Plateau area) I’ve tried to depict on my route. As far as the element symbols, that was a thing they did with the title graphics on the show. My choosing of radium was only to spell the word rail. Posting these screenshots was probably a bad idea in the first place.

The better question is, where did he get the haz-mat guys? I'd like to make a scene with them now that I've seen them. But not an RV inspection, it has to be original. *walks off mumbling, deep in thought*
I used Marsz astronauts by ish6 for the hazmat suits.

That's awesome. Great work! Yep their cooking meth. A common seen in AZ or in a Southwest , MO trailer park. :)
Thanks, it’s a huge problem all over. It’s sad that it continues to destroy so many lives.

Wow... this is epic... How long is the route?
It would eventually be about 160 miles. I haven’t had much time lately to make any forward progress on the route.

Thanks, I hope TS Mac is working well for you.

I know that song all too well. I just wanted to interject my kudos here too. I've been monitoring this thread since June, I think and I'm really impressed with your scenic sense and eye for detail. I consider myself a fair detailer, but my hats off to you. You're in a whole 'nother league, Mac or not. // Frank

can you name the desert textures you are using and where to get them
That would be quite a large list since it would include every texture I’ve used on this route. It also depends on what type of desert terrain you’re trying to depict. This route crosses the high desert of the Colorado Plateau, sometimes referred to as red rock country. (Think Grand Canyon, Roadrunner cartoons, Monument Valley). Lately I’ve been using more of the TS09 andTS12 textures that are on the DSL. Joe, (socalwb909) has some great desert textures. JVC has payware textures that I’ve used all along. Of those I use more sparingly now. There are also some very good desert sand textures by DUMONT that I’ve used recently.

Thanks for the comment I appreciate that.

Gordon,

As mentioned before mate....you really have to stop going into the real world to take your screenshots! :hehe:
Excellent work...keep the shots coming.

Dan.

Thanks Dan

I don’t know what sky you're referring to. The (almost) all blue sky is zx-German Sky HQ 1, kuid:211147:99001

Which one, in which post/image? There are several very good ones on display in this thread.

BTW, nice shots Gordon!:Y:
Thanks Casper

While I don't have any Trainz installed on my PC at the moment. When this route gets released, I will install Trainz 12 again just to run this route as its a great looking route. Keep up the good work.
