Northern Arizona Route

If you want something changed let me know....I installed a center brace like I have on all my double track bridges.
I just got the double track plate girder bridge today. It looks great. I’m going to post some shots later today. Thanks for sharing all the bridge and industrial content that you do. Your “Yupper” route looks amazing so far.

@kamram, thanks and congratulations on your screenshot of the week win.

Nice shot Gordon, I especially like the face in the rock above the tree!
Well now that you mention it, when I zoom in a bit I do see a face in the rocks. :hehe:

Funny, but I like the other face better!;)
Well I was just having some fun. That shot was a little experiment with the lighting controls again. I tried to see if I could capture the look and atmosphere of a well-known western landscape painting from the 1800s.

Here are a few shots of wawasoo’s double track plate girder bridge I downloaded today.
@wawasoo, what you’ve done with this bridge is excellent work. It’s a type of plate girder bridge I’ve been looking for. Is it possible for you to put up a version without the center brace? Thanks, Gordon

GNdome55: Nice Pics..man your doing some nice work..maybe someday you will expose all of your secrets..

Thanks Bob, If you like it clone it....the next Plate is going to be about 2 ft. narrower between the braces, and nearly 4.5 ft shorter...7' 9" x 8' 4". I was up north last weekend and got some specs on a bridge so the next release of the Deck Girders will be more "life like". Those plates are 10' 6" x 13' right now, and I think a little oversized. I think they look a lot better.

When I put up the new 2 Track, I'll put out one without the center brace. I need that at the Docks...can you live with walking boards down the center or do you want it clear?

Soon to be festooned with a Santa Fe emblem...

That might be hard to do. That bridge the paint repeats every third plate...ie the mesh is really short, but you can stretch it out a gazillion feet. I think I have an idea how to do that though. I could make a trackside item for you that goes with these plate girders. You would slap it on the side instead of underneath like a bridge support, and then move it to the position you wanted...and I would suggest between the plate ribs. I could make it slighly fatter then the plate itself so it wouldn't flicker. Then you could skin any emblem on it. The Plate Decks are different the mesh is longer, but it still repeats.

I've already got that handled, as I won't be working with the bridge itself, so it won't matter about the spacing, but thanks for the offer.

@wawasoo, I really like the quality of the work your doing on bridges. I think it looks great. I’m not sure I understand, your next plate girder will be a little smaller in height? Will that one have a center brace and if so will it be a little lower in height?
As far as the Santa Fe signage that I asked Ed if he could do, the Idea was to have signs that could be place on the side of the bridge and create the illusion that it was actually painted on. I think it could work if the background is close in colors.
Anyway thanks for the content that you’re creating.

But instead of a sign, I am using my "clear plane" asset to just make the lettering and/or emblem to be applied to the side of the bridge. In this way, the background doesn't matter, as it will show through and appear as if the emblem was painted directly on the surface of the bridge, or whatever it's applied to. I will also be making other emblems for the same purpose for different railroads. I just needed to know the bridge dimensions to have an idea of height and width of the emblem itself. I should be on these this coming weekend.;)

Well, these are the actual dimensions I got doing a direct measurement compared to what is on the download station now. I'll try and get them done tonight so you can go to work. Notice I've grabbed more of the plate image...rivets on the top of the plate in doing this. It's 7' 9" wide by 8' 4" tall, but it includes the ribs in the width. This sizes up with some of those bridge pics posted earlier.

I"m also working on a new skin to match the bridge I measured up. This is much closer to the AT&SF bridges I looked at in the pics. SO I might end up with a rusty, a light and a dark, for all bridge types.

I like the idea of the signs/painted names as trackside assets so there is no futzing around trying to position them "just right"- they'll click to the right position automatically, you just have to drag them wherever (like the center of the bridge or directly over the roadway)
