Northern Arizona Route

Thanks steamrodder, I’ve been meaning to leave a comment on your Wenatchee route thread. Your doing some amazing prototypical building so far!

Today I was playing with the color settings for night mode. So this is my first nighttime shot. The starry Milky Way sky is built into a bunch of JVC skies I have. It tends to look a little blurry but it’s a cool addition to the other stars. I see a lot of interesting possibilities for effects working with the color settings.

Gordon Ning and I love your thread and wanted to say again great artist you are!!! superb work dear friend!!!!!
btw my opinion on the sky in past pict is not my choice but the glow of the campfire on the trees is very close to real! change the gras 2D for some jvc st grass types looks much better and give Amy's eyes same glow as coyotes than she can play in the GRimm series lol:hehe:
@Eupod can you make some deer, bear, wolves?

Im sorry but that looks TOTALLY photoshopped! I cant even get my sun to glow that much or get below the earth that low!

I love the night shot. Perhaps it was serendipity, but the glow on the trees looks fantastic!

@Eupod can you make some deer, bear, wolves?

I will add them to the list.

I've been following this thread for quite a while now, and you've finally made me break out and say it. This route looks AMAZING, just as it has from the very start.
Euphod, those animals look spectacular, and I love how you incorporated the glowing eyes into the coyotes!

Really, I don't post enough, but this looks jaw-droppingly good!

@joosten, thanks Ning & Roy I appreciate the compliment. I agree about the starry sky. From this angle it’s very blurry. As far 2D vs 3D I use mostly 3D including JVC ST 10 near trackside. What you’re seeing is a JVC dry grass spline I use often. In normal lighting it looks very realistic but with this lighting effect all the 3D objects are glowing with high contrast to the textures undereneath. As far as a potential story here, I don’t know what it is but does have a haunting quality to it.

Heyrey, I doubt you’ll even read this but the large screenshot, which you have quoted, is TOTALLY surveyored!

@Euphod, thanks Ed, after I stumbled upon this effect with the warm glowing light on the trees I knew I would put a campfire in there. It was a perfect set up to use those coyotes you made with the glowing eyes.
The effect was done by color adjustments to both to ambient light and sun color in night setting.

@traincrazy0918, thanks for the comment.

Ah if you play with it long enough, you can make something incredible happen, I have tried and failed to make that come true, But I do know people who can make it look that real, Now as far as the shot, I almost thought it was real.. Incredible job!

Still working with the lighting effects I see? Hopefully someone will make a product named "stuff" for your new industry. Pretty picture though!

This shot is the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and last with this lighting effect. I created it in night setting, which is a strange way to work. It’s easy to get lost. Only a select few high res textures worked. Most other textures show up as a glowing blue as if it were lit by a black light. I thought these Industrial structure pieces looked kind of cool in this light. I’m not sure what kind of stuff they make here but I’m sure it’s toxic. I’ve been taking a little break from my route lately. I think I’m ready to get back to working on it again.

@cascaderailroad, It’s been so long since I’ve seen that movie. The only thing I remember is Charlton Heston screaming the one thing I don’t want to remember about that movie.

@slabay, Outland was good movie. Now that I think of it, if I added some Mars content and changed a few things, I could probably make that into a mining colony on Io. Of coarse I’d need a giant close up of Jupiter to put in the sky.

Today I was taking a cab view spin through my route to see if I could get re inspired to continue working on it. I noticed from just a few view angles inside of the Jointed Rail SD70 MAC the sliding side window opens. Does anyone know if there is a key command to open those from the cab view? Anyway, here are a few shots with the window open.
