Northern Arizona Route

Thanks Deane, the granite boulders you made look great. The grey granite is right in place with the Flagstaff area as well as many other locations around Arizona. I happen to have some textures that blend perfectly with the granite boulders. What is out of place is Montana Rail Link but I think they look good in this shot.

..The grey granite.....

And there I was, spelling it as 'gray' to make it easier for you, but you use the Aussie/Brit 'grey'. What a world. Anyway, I'm glad you found a home for the boulders and used them so nicely. I was also going to say that the coyotes provide a good visual scale reference for the rocks in that shot. It's my screen background for the next few days.

Just finished reading the whole thread. I must say, that is some amazing work on the route building. Everything looks so real and those textures look so realistic. May I ask, where did you get some of the boxcars, trees, shrubs and cars that you use for this route? I have learned so much about prototypical trainz route building from this thread. We have got us a 21st century trainz genius:D. I can't wait to see more screenshots of this route.

Man this route is looking amazing! May I ask, Is that scene with the peaks part of your Arizona route or something else? It is pure genious just use of textures trees and such. may I ask what a few of those trees are u dont have to list them all but they are high detail. Thanks!

(My Internet has been down the past few days do to a severe storm.)

Thanks for the comments.

@Euphod, the pair of coyotes do show up very well. Your flying hawk and Turkey vulture are also a nice effect to add to a sky.

Yeah, I spelled that wrong. I still think it should be spelled with an e, so here is my example using the American version.
The colour of aluminium is gray.

Thanks malikrthr and montanawestren, I’ll try to list some of the content I use.
These last shots with the mountain and pines are from a test area I made for scenery details for future work on the Flagstaff area. It’s on a previous back up of my route.
The conifer trees in the distance are a mix of mostly JVC billboard trees. They are not paywear. There are a few spruce and pines in there that were built in with my version. The forground pines are Mcguirel’s UltraTrees conifers. Her trees are outstanding! Many of the shrubs I use are payware from JVC.
As far as the rolling stock obviously I use a lot of Jointed Rail content. Thanks to the Jointed Rail creators for all the amazing Locomotives and rolling stock!
Some other rolling stock I’m using is from Trainz Sessions. I’m using both David’s and rgcx’ content from that site. Check it out if you haven’t, they have a lot of great stuff.

Thanks for letting me know Gordon; it's a difficult model to work with, and I'm still trying to perfect the method. The smaller animals are quite hard, and judging scale is a problem, but I was confident you would be able to disguise the drawbacks well enough, and you have. I still have a few items for your route rolling around in my tiny head!

hi Gordon,

Sorry I did not see your thread earlier as I run completely out of time even to look at the forum and see your excellent thread and work. I did myself same as you long time ago using hog or transdem textures to mimic far distant scenery but that was for me a shot in the dark and had to abandone it for the simple reason I use all the maps/scenery close and distant so have to rely on my own textures and others from the dls to make it work.Sometimes forests can cover distant trouble with textures blopping but not always.
Job well done and good luck and energy for finishing things is what you need for sure.
At this moment I stopped a never ending repair/search/repair splinebugs but at a certain moment it is time to say enough is enough people have to understand and accept certain trainz bugs bloopers(even so small but present) pop up at unknown location thought to be free of errors. Yes I am a perfectionist but have to accept these limits of the game.
For sure you will encounter them too.

best regards,

Roy

One question unanswered so for; if this route is being build in the Mac version, will it be usable in any other versions, such as 2009, 2010, or 2012?

It already can be made available through a work around, but I'm certain eventually the Mac version will be able to export CDPs.

@joosten, thanks Roy, so far I haven’t run into any major bugs. I can only imagine the time you have put into your route. Your attention to detail shows, it really is amazing work! Good luck on all the finishing work on your route. I look forward to the day when I finish this route. At this point in time it’s a long ways from completion.

@nfitzsimmons, from what I understand, TS MAC has a TS 12 game engine and TS 10 content. As Ed indicated there is no way to export to cdp in the current Mac version. Hopefully that issue will be resolved someday. I guess plan B is to invite everybody in the Trainz community over to my house when I finish this route. I’d probably have to set up some extra chairs in my office. :hehe:

LOL, you need this thread, two chairs, a friend with TS10 or TS12, a flash drive, and beer or soda as appropriate.

Thanks! Those trees will be very helpful when I try to make a TS09 version of my finished project, all I need now is TS09 :hehe:

@ slabay, yeah at some point transfer of the route file to a PC version will be likely. Right now I just don’t think about any of the completion of the route plans. I do know that some of the payware I use will be a factor in how or where this route ends up. For now I just focus on building the route.

@Euphod, Chicago style pizza it is. Now that I think about it, pizza sounds pretty good right now. It must be because it was a bone chilling 84° today instead of the usual sweltering heat and humidity we’re getting this summer.

@MTW let me know if you need the names for some of the JVC billboard trees.

@BlakeDooley, thanks

Very outstanding superb work that you are doing on this masterpiece, My cat meowed, so there you have it.....It's the cats meow!!:D
