Noobmountain & Western WIP (medium-sized pics)

:)

I did not spend that much time on my route this weekend, so there are not that many results.
But for all of you who encouraged me, I think I just show something.

In the first sequence, we follow a time freight downhill westward from Summit Junction to Melgins Siding, which is halfway down.

Entering Summit Junction. Eastbound helper service ends here.

Right after Summit Juction, we cross a small river and a tunnel.
Thats the western portal.

This is the eastern end of Melgins Siding.
It is a center siding.

Exiting Melgins Siding.

In the second sequence, we take a closer look on helper action eastwards.

A Y6b helper waits for its assigned train to pass by; a 140-car coal-drag lead by an A-class and a Y6b. 13800 tons today.

After the trains stopped, the helper couples up.

As we passed the breaking test, we get a clear soon and head out.

Thats it for today.

JACKPOT!

I've played the Trainz Jackpot and I have won a Million Trainz Dollars. I'm using my Trainz winnings on this route. This has got to be the best Trainz route ever. Just one question, if you release the route, are you gonna release sessions with the N&W articulated steamers (Y&A classes respectively), coal cars and other rolling (such as N&W caboose) as built-in for the sessions? (That is, if you release the route and add sessions to it.) You also earned the title: The Best Trainz Route Ever. It's yours. Take it and be proud, 'cause you have amazed me to disbelief. So much so, I'm go you this....[TINK!]....A Golden Trainzie. Take it and keep it near and dear to you, 'cause you earned it my friend.

Hey Alex!

Thank you very much for your support.
That is very much appreciated, but honestly, there are literally 100s of world-builders who do a better job than me!
For example, get gfishers routes, which are my main inspiration and to which I´ll probably never come even close. Or the polish guys!
The Clovis Sub, Cumberland to Connellsville, Ida & Emma Yard, Marias Pass to name but a very few.
:)

As to your question: sure I´ll make some sessions when time comes. First I´ll release the route with a base-session and then I´ll learn the necessary scripting. When I´m good enough at that, I´ll release them. I´ve got a dozen Ideas for sessions already, ranging from several mine-turns to pusher action, local turns and yard-switching.

The coal-cars are free on the DLS, if you like, I´ll get you the KUIDs.
I´m not going to release sessions with payware.
First up, I had to be sure that everyone who purchased Y- or A-classes got the same KUIDs and road nummbers. That´s impossible for me.
Second, I personally don´t like to be forced to purchase something before I can let it roll.
:)

I´ll use freeware stand-in´s for the articulated, for example the NYC-Mohawks and the build-in Big Boy or something like that.
So everybody can create sessions based upon mine with their favorite rolling-stock.
The caboose comes from wgkandsk, so you have to get them from him, I´m pretty sure your are welcome!
:D

Thank you again for your moral support, I´ll keep the Golden Trainzie! As a reminder to get better!
:udrool:

Thank You

I am pleased to know, and yes, I'd like the KUID's to the N&W coal cars. Thanks so much and don't let that Golden Trainzie out of your sight.

The hopper is from whitepass and it´s KUID is <kuid2:58422:15224:1>

He had made some others, too. There are hoppers from UP, CRR and PRR.
He also made a N&W LC1. And a nice PRR shunter, which is named PRR_transfer. You can see it in my "Busy time in Calonia" picture.

If you work yourself through his content, you´ll find a lot of useful stuff.

:D

Breath Of Fresh Air

This great route is always a breath of fresh air. It's the first thread I check, when I come onto the forums. I love it so much, it's like taking a trip, back to when steam was king on the N&W, long after the other railroads embraced diesels. Keep up the outstanding work, and don't let the Golden Trainzie escape your sights, because those are expensive for me to make :hehe: and I don't wanna make another. :hehe: Too damn expensive. :hehe:

I had some troubles moving my Trainz folder, so I have to keep you waiting for some news.

Meanwhile, I can provide some stuff to keep you tuned...

A caboose transfer...

Have to fix the shadows... Tomorrow.

Next thing to finish is the area around Main Station.
Have to put some efforts into texturing.
Texturing is one thing I really, really dislike.
Don´t know how the old hands can get such stunning results, but I´ll do my best!

Well, the last weeks I´ve been lazy.
Had some other great troubles which kept me from working on.

I just discovered that finally something like a skyline is forming up, yay.
Sometimes even small victories can count.

Next task is changing the powerline-splines along the route for telegraph-splines. The Powerlines will then be re-assigned to their original task.

One small scene I was working on. Its a maintenance-track where the previously shown railroads, which meet in that "bridgy scene", diverge. They are going parallel for a while and that ends here.

Somewhere further up, I set up this scene, I think it will be an eyecatcher when it´s done. The upper route is the one which crosses the river in the narrow valley on the mountain branch.

Not much further along the main...

adzvno.jpg

... I couldn´t resist to install this nice bridge from bendorsey.

Later on, the upper route joins the main. There´s a siding for the main also.

So this is all VMIP, Very Much In Process....
Hope you stay tuned!

Isegrinns, I've been following this thread and will probably download it when it's done. Nice work! I really like your industrial plant, alot of thought went into it. There's a gentleman who made me some Bulk Fuel Pipes and what I call Tank Farm berms. His user name is Willem2 and his kuid is 97008. You might want to check out his items for that industrial plant. Another kuid for a dike is 234284:37012

Hey thank you.
I had that bulk-fuel-lines already, but they are too colored for my liking.
But I have found some nice tubes on a russian site. I think they will come to use. Username is "Micael", if you like to check ´em out.

Thanks for the link. I clicked on download and looked at everything but didn't the pipes. If you would give me the kuid # I could give Google a try.

They are there. Just click the green link left to "1372kb".
In surveyor, type in "truba". Then you´ll find some pipes along with racks.
They are NO splines!
:)

While I´m here, I can post some screens as well.

It´s been a while, so it is about time to post some new screenshots.

So here we go.

"We are around the Consolidation complex. A 080 switches hoppers while a passenger runs by.

Autumnspam10klein.jpg

Autumnspam11klein.jpg

Some of our frinds are also around and are making some photos from other viewpoints.

Autumnspam18klein.jpg

Don´t ask me how Frank managed to get up there....

Autumnspam15klein.jpg

Some friendly words from George convinced the miners to let him on the mine property. He promissed to get them some cake later. I´d ask him for beer!

Autumnspam16klein.jpg

Autumnspam17klein.jpg

Later, we returned to bring the cake and take more rainy pictures of the ongoing struggle uphill. Here´s a local heading up the branch.

Autumnspam8klein.jpg

The second freight had a big steel item behind the loco!

Autumnspam7klein.jpg

Our cameras were in order, so we took some photos from all around the right-of-way.

Autumnspam4klein.jpg

"Maybe some day they will cut those darn trees!"

Autumnspam2klein.jpg

After that, we were all soaked and headed home."
