No Steam Chug Sound After Fiddling with Piston Volume Tags

Hello. I was tuning my steam locomotive and one of the steps are tuning the piston volume min and max. After finding the amount of power I that want, however, the chug-chug sound went away. Is there a fix to this? Thank you so much in advance.

Check your sound file.
From here:

Valid WAV files are:
  • Uncompressed.
  • 8 or 16 bit
  • Mono, Stereo or Surround
Sampling rate can be 22kHz (22,050Hz) or 44kHz (44,100Hz). The higher sampling rate doubles the size of the file for no significant improvement in quality, and is not recommended. For some purposes there are additional requirements - for instance directional sounds must be mono.

I've tried fiddling with the clearance again and now the chug-chug sound goes back. I might check the sound file later. Thank you so much for the insight! :D

You're welcome. I'm glad you got things working again. The sound requirements in Trainz are very specific and since your sound is back, I wouldn't touch the sound files.
