No sound TRS19

No sounds at all. Interior game sound is set at max, computer sound isn't muted, and my computer just updated to the latest version of Windows 10 (but this has been going on since I got the sim). Volume mixer isn't showing TRS even when it's open. I'm using bluetooth headphones since my apartment isn't well-insulated in terms of sound.

I'm completely out of ideas on how to fix this and the previous threads I've seen don't solve the issue. Any ideas?

Can be tricky and annoying
a few problem elimination tests:
-try without any bluetooth, let your pc use normal speakers
-In Trainz settings, check the audio settings
-do you hear the piano music when in the mainscreen?
-left click the the speaker symbol on your taskbar, what does it say?
-right click the speaker symbol on your taskbar, choose open volume mixer. TRS should be there
-right click the speaker symbol on your taskbar, trouble shoot sound problems

PC does not have speakers

As I said in my opening post: game sound is set at max, there is no sound at all from the sim, TRS is not showing in volume mixer. I did click troubleshoot, normal PC volume works just fine (used my headphones). Basically, this is a TRS problem, not a PC/Windows problem.

Sound has to work prior to starting Trainz, otherwise the program won't recognize the sound device. This isn't the only program that has that issue I found out.

I also have a Bluetooth headset and ended up ditching it because Windows 10 and Windows 11 decide that it's idle and will turn it off to save the battery. Once it goes to sleep, I have to quit and reenable everything all over. I'm back to wired headphones instead. While inconvenient, it's a lot more reliable.

I have the same problem with an LG Monitor that has a sound jack in the back. I use that because the front jack on my computer no longer works, but the LG driver also drops the sound when not in use, so I have to bring up the sound control panel to get it back. I have to double check that I have sound before I start Trainz, or sound will not work at all., and I will have to quit Trainz completely, activate the sound, and then restart Trainz. The headphones are wired, but the jack uses the LG digital sound driver instead of speakers/headphones, and for some reason that driver drops out.

No way to know, but if you used some other program to activate the sound, then that may have carried over to Trainz.

Basically what I discovered is that as long as the headphones are connected before TRS19 is started, it works fine. The more you know, I guess.

John, wouldn't going into the properties of the device and unchecking the "allow Windows to turn off this device to save battery" (or something like that) work?

EDIT: Sorry. Just noticed the date of your post. The thread got resurrected.

I resurrected an old post earlier myself!

Unfortunately, that doesn't always work. Sometimes, the devices go to sleep on Windows. I've had that occur and I gave up on using Bluetooth headphones for that reason.
