Newbie questions :)

Hello all,
Just bought Trainz and have been playing it for a few days.

Just been looking on the net and found this site..... which has downloads etc.

How do you add downloads to the game ? And what is required to download from this site? Is each download charged for ?

How many service packs or updates are there ?

Appolgies for all the questions... hope somebody can answer them all.

Hi and welcome to Trainz,

There are different versions of Trainz, so the answer to your questions will depend which program you have.

Downloads on the Download Station (DLS) are free for registered trainz users, but there is a daily limit of 100MB. You can also buy a First Class Ticket, which enables faster downloads and removes the upper limit. I'm told their good value, but I've never used one personally.

If you use the download helper (Content Manager in TRS06), it will automatically carry out the installation, but if you use FTP to download then you'll need to just open the file you create.

There are four service packs for Trainz 2004, and one for Trainz 2006. To find out which you need, you need to look at the build number (on the bottom right of the main Trainz menu), then select the appropriate pack. I'll dig out the relevent link once I know what you need.

just another quick question...... I've just downloaded the "download helper"..... it keeps bringing up a message each time I try to download something saying it can not do it because it hasn't registered the helper.


I've tried installing it twice but its not downloading.. it also brings up a message saying I do not have access to that content.


I'm running it on Windows Vista... is that the problem ??


Really interested in getting some steam engines up and running

Have you registered your game yet?

if you have Trs06, see i downloaded content from trs04 and it works fine.

you also don't need to be online if you have 06. you can download from content manager.
