That's a significant bit of information. I've always thought, if I can't feel a tingle when I touch an earthed part of the computer I'm not going to harm it.

And its not always apparent when something has been damaged. I use to work quite closely with some of our suppliers and at one after they starting taking the anti static stuff more seriously the return rate during the one year warranty period dropped by I think they said 90%. The savings in paperwork and customer relations more than paid for the antistatic precautions within 3 months.
