Hi guys,

I've been modifying some default routes in TRS2006, basically still learning. I have no idea how to install new content or use the Content Manager. It's quite confusing to me. Basically all I want to do is to back up my work on the newly modified route and session.

I tried to install some downloaded sessions and ever since, I've been getting an error. I can't recall what it says exactly but in content manager, it says there's missing dependancies. The two that I downloaded, I'd like to just remove them. I also have that error on a few of my modified ones, but I've since modified them more and renamed them, which don't have any errors.

I have trouble with learning, slightly disabled, so if anyone could help me out. Can I just explore the folders and find the files to back up manually? I run MS Flight Simulator, so I'm used to modifying everything manually.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim, you will need to use the search function in CMP to find what you want. Keep trying different filters to find what you are after, also on the left of each filter there is an equal sign thingo with a line through it, if you click on this it means "not equal to". So your search may look something like this;

Search for "Built In" then click on the not equal to. You should have anything that is not built in.

Next Search function is "Location - Local" this will then remove the Download Station items.

Next "Category" equal to sessions, and this should then list the sessions you have downloaded and by highlighting them and then right click you can select "delete" from the pop up menu

While there is an easier way then above, I thought I would show you the hardest way just to help you with CMP.

The easy way is if you know the kuid number of the sessions then you would select "Asset KUID" and enter the kuid number for the item in this format "<kuid2:12345:12345:1>" using the kuid number from the download station.

For you own layout you could enter your own ID member number (if you know it) in the "Author ID" like this "#12345" and that will list your layout.

You can not just explore the folders where content is stored to find what you are after, well you can actually but you will not know what it is as as TRS2006 gives it another "strange" name.

Hope this helps,

Craig

Deleting and saving

Hi capncrazy68,

Welcome to the world of trainz:wave:

To save a route with a different name, hover your mouse pointer over the top left of the screen when in driver, you will then see Surveyor menu in the top bar. click on surveyor menu and select "save as" from the dropdown menu. Give your route a new name and click save.

To delete a modified route go into surveyor hylight the route you want to delete then click the delete button at the bottom of the screen. You will not be able to delete original routes, only custom routes, the ones with a "c" after the name.

Hope this helps,
Cheers

Ok. I managed to search Author ID, and found everything I have modified. Basically what I did, was I merged the Tidewater North and Tidewater South together, and have added trains and moved cars around, and added some track and industry. My plans are to add even more, to continue beyond the map that's currently there. What I need to do is to back up my work. I cannot archive it because everything I use is default.

What I have in this list is 2 Tidewater Merge, which is the route. I have a Freeform and FreeformMaster which are the sessions. And I have one that says Untitled, and that one is misc. What is that one? I've always saved them using Save or Save as, so that one must be a mistake.

But all I want to do is save my work on my hard drive, so if I have to reinstall it, I can put it back in.

If you want to back up work to reinstall at some point thee are two options.
1 with CMP open find your layouts or sessions left click to highlight then right click and select save to CDP ,Cmp wil make a CDP for you you can give it as name and select where on your pc you want to store it.
2nd instead of choosing save to CDP select Archive once again CMP will save the content as an archive which you can save to a folder and at some point later you can extract the archive into 06.
There is a third option and this will save all the content in 06 make a back up copy of the Local folder which can be found in the TRS2006 folder.
Default location local drive C program files Auran TRS2006 Local
