new to 2006

I have just brought trainz 2006 and I have some questions

1 do I have to uninstall 2004 and all content first before installing 2006 ( I know I have to register 2006)

2 what happens to fct that I have for 2004 ? It does not run out until may 2010, can I use it with 2006.

3 Are there any updates, service packs etc. to download for 2006

No, you can have both installed at the same time provided you have enough hard disk space. (There is a very minor complication regarding switching downloads between the different versions but it's not a problem.)

Once you've installed it, tell us the build number and we can check for you.

I don't think you have to uninstalll anything. Your 04 wil play, when you click on 04. And 06 will play, when you click 06.

Your FCT will work in 04. You can save the 04 assets as a CDP, and send them to 06, and commit them in 06.

I have no FCT....and I have absolutely no problems, whatsoever connecting, or downloading anything. My Internet connection is @3mps, which is high speed. If one had a slow ISP speed, or dialup, even using a FCT would be slow.

04 routes will work on 06...but 06 routes can not play on 04. The same goes for 09, Trainz can not back date to lower year simulator.

The FCT can be used on any Trainz version you install.

Build 3092 is SP1 which is the latest and last update for TRS2006. So you're all set, no updates to do, happy driving!
