New PC

Hello Everyone.

I'm about to move to a new PC.
I have 2009 TC3 that I downloaded from Auran.
The question is this.
How do I move the installation to a new PC?

I'm worried, because recently I wanted to access the TraizOptions file (I'm Windows Vista), and was told I needed administrator privileges. So I duly created an administrator A/C and made the mistake of opening CMP from there.
The Auran "crime lab" promptly assumed I was a person non-grata and corrupted some of my locally created items......:''(
Without telling me, I might add!

This (moving PC) isn't "impossible" is it?

Which one is it, TS2009 or TC3? I know the already-installed TS2010 and TS12 can simply be copied, so you don't lose anything; the only things you might want to set up, which are completely optional, are the file associations to point CDP/CDP2 files to CMP, and the download cart handler in your browser. I can't say for earlier Trainz versions like TC3 though.

Just move the hard drive with Trainz on into the new computer, then just start it from within the Trainz folder on it's old hard drive, job done. :wave:

It is TC3. With a lot of locally amended items!!

OK, I could do that.
However, if the hard drive fails, what then?
