today i bought gigabyte r9 270x oc 2gb
i am facing issue that its not giving any display what i get is no signal and black screen i tried every possible solution but no go currently i am using dvi to hdmi cable so is there any issue with cable? before this i am using same cable with motherboard builtin in hdmi port and running fine
i tried gpu in other pcie slot which runs on 4x speed and gpu is running fine everything is fine like normal but i want to run gpu in pcie x16 slot so plz tell me why this issu is arising?
also telling you that i bought this cable from my friend who bought it but he also got same issue with his gpu just no signal but this cable is running fine on builtin hdmi port of motherboard so is there any compatibility issue?

gigabyte r9 270x oc 2gb

Hi Kamran,

Couple of things here...

Check that you have all the power connections plugged into the video card. If I remember correctly, the GF270, like all the newer NVidia video cards require extra PCI-E power connected directly to the video card.

Also check the different ports on the video card as well including the HDMI and DVI ports.

yes two power connectors are connected i tried hdmi port and then dvi port but no go
gpu is running excellent in pcie slot running on x4 but not on x16 slot
a guy told me that clear your cmos while your gpu plugged in to x16 slot i ded this and it start working till it goes to log in screen then system helds and restart then again same issue i repeated but no go
it seems that there is some sort of compatibility issue bcz whenever i connected it with either hdmi cable or dvi it says no signal check your cable but both cables are working fine in other slot with this gpu as well as built in display ports of motherboard

Have had the same problem but with another card
Was either bad cable/connection or monitor/tv was set to incorrect input cable type
New cable solved my issue

Was either bad cable/connection or monitor/tv was set to incorrect input cable type
i am also thinking of this bcz i tried hdmi to dvi cable and vga cable by using dvi to vga connector and whenever i coonect my gpu my led start changing modes from analog to dvi for few seconds and then just black screen
but both cables are working with onboard display ports and when gpu is is insatlled in pciex4 slot
so either cable comaptibility issue or bad slot
