New Downloads ?

I run TRS2006 and have noticed that there have not been any downloads added to the CMP since 5th Oct. Is this correct or has something gone wrong my end ?
I have never known it go so long without somebody adding something to download.

From 1st October any new uploaded items are only accepted with build numbers of TRS2009 or higher. If you want stuff for 06 you better hunt around 3rd party sites.

Well thats a shame, so no point in me having a FCT in future then, Auran will lose a lot of income if all 2006 users stop buying FCTs.
Seems strange business statergy ??

I wouldn't lose the FCT too quickly. As I undestand it, anyone on TRS06 or before, will only be able to download from the DLS if they have the FCT.

The choice is keep your FCT to access DLS content, or make do with content from 3rd party sites.

Sadly, that is progress. It's been a hot topic here for months. If you do a search for something like support or withdrawal of support (not sure which) you will come across some heated debate on the topic.

Isn't it true: That TRS2006 users without a FCT can still download from the DLS-DLH at slow speeds, with no problems ?

I have heard of no mass exodus and complaints from 06 users, about the TRS2006 in game DLH downloading being totally disabled just because they lack a FCT.

I am lead to believe that a FCT is not a necessity (but is a highly usefull, unlimited daily amount, speedy downloading, luxury), and that FTP downloading is not a requirment for expired non-FCT ticket holders.

I bought a 1 year $19 FCT for TRS2006, and I absolutely love it ... and I will renew it again next year for TRS2006 use.

I also believe that if one purchases a TRS04/06 FCT, that it is automaticly useable, if they upgrade to a 09/10 version at a later date.

Lets hear from some TRS2006 users without a FCT ... whether or not, all non FCT downloading has been disabled ... I think it has not been curtailed. And non FCT users can still download.

Have not used 06 in months but loaded it up,

I have 2010, 2006 installed and have a FCT.

2006 Content Manager Plus - Mine shows all new DLS items up to today.

And it will DL the new assets and install them in 2006, however even though the appear in the objects menu in surveyor they will not appear on screen as they are 2.9 assets.

No longer use 2006 but thought it would be interesting to see what happens with new assets.

It is still possible to download without a FCT. I have a dialup connection and am used to slow downloads. Sometimes the number of server connections is exceeded and I have to try again, but often there is no delay.

I am not able to use anything later than TRS2004 until my TS2010 copy arrives.

As an afterthought what are all the wonderful creators of TRS 2006 going to do now ?
Will they carry on and if so where will they upload their items to ?

Forget the 5 year old software and move on? At least they'll have steam loco sounds that work.
