New Aircraft

I wil upload the Herc with startup function this week Pascal, the textures you are using should fit that but we can work on it, if I recall you are not using wing fuel tanks.

Hi

Some news about a next release:

With the help of Ian, I am preparing a (nearly) complete fleet of the Blue Angels team aircrafts: the Hercules C130T Fat Albert, and the FA 18A Hornets.

WOW! Those are beautiful! You should be darn proud of those!:)

Ian, I have the bell helicopter and love the start up and rise for take off. My question is how come the H key will raise it but the AI horn command will not? The aircraft trigger does not seem feasible either because of the size of the heliport. I can not find a way for AI to run this.
Thanks
Carl

Hello Carl,

The AI horn command sends the wrong signals directly to the Trainz code and my script cannot intercept them. The Track Aircraft Action trigger is also not suitable, as you have to cross a trigger to get it to work and this is not realistic until you have started up an aircraft before moving (B key), and as you say the heliport is too small.

That is why I did the two new rules for the aircraft to operate under AI. I mention them and other functions in the config description of the models.

Download the rules and tick them in Surveyor in the Driver setup menu to make them active for your session to use:

Aircraft Engine Start Command, kuid2:60238:80004:1

Aircraft Helicopter Takeoff Command, kuid2:60238:80005:1

Perhaps I could have listed the triggers as dependencies of the models so they would be downloaded with the aircraft, but even then you would not know about them unless you looked at the config description in CMP.

Engine start

Hi Vulcan.

Downloaded a few of your startup aircraft last night, absolutely great. Adds heaps to the realism. My only gripe is that it sounds a lot more like a jet than any sort of propellor, with the exception of the Hercules and choppers. Would it be possible to do another startup sound for the earlier planes eg. Spitfire, Hurricane, P-51, Lancaster and others?

I know you're quite busy with other projects, but it's just my personal opinion that Spitfires shouldn't have jet wind-ups!

Otherwise, great work, and keep it up! Looking forward to the startup function Jerries and heavy bombers too.:D

Happy Planezing,
Scott.

Thanks Jamie,

Scott, the Spitfire and Hurricanes with replacement startup sound are now available. You can fool some of the people all the time, but ......:)

Approvals are taking a long time again, will upload the Eurofighter and Sea Kings tomorrow.

Hi Ian.

Thanks for the new startup on the Spits and Hurris! :D Really good sound, now I'll have to find some way of putting it on the Mustang and Lightning.

I'm beginnning to think you may need a heavier, lower noise for bomber startup, and the Jerries could have their own as well, but I'll try not to push you. :hehe:

Great progress, and keep it up!
Happy Planezing,;)
Scott.

Mmm, I love the look of the Blackhawks

Your skills in knowing what I want are better and better :hehe: :hehe:

Seriously, I am wondering when these will be uploaded, and then what next??

Jamie

A litle more work on the Harriers before upload.

The Blackhawks are finished but I should think about a correct sound file for those. While I like the sound I am currently using for a helicopter, the Blackhawks do not sound like that.

I have just downloaded the Hurricane and Spitfire for the first time (as my interest is the 1930s there isn't much for me unfortunately). I normally hate to criticise models in view of my complete incompetence at modelling but I'm afraid I have to here. They are marvellous models but.....

The Hawker Hurricane had an inward retracting undercarriage like the Mustang and not an outward one like the Spitfire. The only other fighter like the Spit that I can recall was the Bf109. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but as an oldie that grew up during WW2 it grates on me (how sad!).

Hello John, you mean like this?

The model was based on the Spitfire mesh and it appears I had been attaching the wrong Spitfire wheel mesh to this one, I have found the right one and will upload an update, thanks for the information.

Can't fool all the people all of the time....
