New Aircraft

Christopher, I have sent you a beta model of a 60 metre invisible turntable, let me know if that is what you had in mind.

Josh, I sent you an email a few days ago, with suggestions on the obsolete problem, have you had any success?

Thank you very much.

Il2 inspiration

Before anyone has a go at me for this looking like a anti American post (which it is not) these screenshots are meant to show Ian how battle effects could be put into effect... in trainz for dogfights etc.
Yeah with il2 :p

Hi All.

Nice screens hope 5. Not that much fire in mine, but still some good effects.

Here's some combat action in the Mediterranean. Enjoy!

combat_IL2_1.jpg

Messerschmitt Bf109 E7-B.

combat_IL2_2.jpg

Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vc in Africa camouflage paint.

combat_IL2_3.jpg

Contact! Let the dogfight begin.

combat_IL2_4.jpg

Having a crack with everything I've got.

combat_IL2_5.jpg

I can see the whites of his eyes...

combat_IL2_6.jpg

Now I'm in trouble!

combat_IL2_7.jpg

Evasive action!

combat_IL2_8.jpg

Battered and bruised, but undefeated!

combat_IL2_9.jpg

And there he goes! (I blew his wingtip off and he went spinning)

combat_IL2_10.jpg

Clearance to land, coasting in with a whole bunch of 22s on my screen.

(And then I stacked it on landing. Oops.)

More combat screens, anyone? Just a few minutes needed and you've got more shots coming.

Happy Planezing,
Scott.

(This beats a faulty Trainz any day!)

G'day!

Gawd... what have I started!?

Anyway, here are couple of IL2 shots from me! :)

Upside down in the Messerschmitt. I apologise for the Swastika! I can't remove it! But it makes the Bf-109 look good!

Just my luck, I had an atomic bomb on board!

I am going to create some more madness with my latest project. :hehe:

Welcome to the Netherland Antillies Island of Saba. Home to the world's shortest runway: all 396m of it!
nzms201101040002.jpg

A single fire truck is always ready on the island as the Twin Otter lands (only one of two aircraft permitted to land there).

Compare the runway with one of Ian's standard runways:

Next stop: Princess Juilana International Airport, home to one of the most famous approaches in the world.

That airport looks great CJ187.

I'm going to make Princess Juilana International Airport in Sint Maarten and then work my way out to other islands from there.

regarding the dogfighting scenes...HEY, i thought of that first!!! I've often wondered if, to make a plane fire missiles or dropping bombs, you could make a set or tracks similar to a dual-gauge track, and have the missiles "coupled" to the plane as different engines/cars that would then detatch and then fly down and hit what their aimed at. then you could set a trigger a meter or so ahead of the place the missile hits to start smoke and flames pouring out, make the thing go into a death spiral, etc.

 I think i have too much time on my hands. that i could come up with this. ay yuy yuy!

My dear Kiwi trainzer, :hehe:

I see that you reskinned my Dutch flag. ;)

Would you like me to reskin them from inside my original mesh in Max 3ds? Reskinning my flags just by replacing the .tga file not always yields the best results due to the waving building-up of the mesh. I see some whimsical twists on your flags. :p

If so, send me some info about the images of the flags. Maybe links to them.

Well done, guy.

Hi Planezers.

I've a couple of slightly more fiery shots for you. This is from an airbase attack with La-7s against Bf109s, Bf110s and a flight of He-111 Zwillings.

fire_IL2_1.jpg

Detailed fire and bailing out of the plane. (That's a Zwilling.)

fire_IL2_2.jpg

Boom baby! Those lines are from the grass strip and not from the bomb load, unfortunately.

And that's all for now. What should I try next? Any suggestions?

Happy Planezing,;)
Scott.

Thanks for the offer, Will send through some info and pics this afternoon.

Two invisible turntables, 60 metres and 40 metres, are now on the DLS, called "Aircraft Invisible Turntable 60 metres" etc.

Please read the config file to understand useage and limitations, in particular, the need to use the Move Turntable Rule when large aircraft hide the red rotation arrows.

Sorry guys, while I have made operating missiles, I consider them to simulate one on one air combat, and really just to explore animation possibilities. When uploading, we acknowledge that the models are "suitable for minors", as such I have no desire to have operating bombs for the aircraft.

How 'bout shooting down the PE-8 with the FAB-5000 on board it? :hehe:

Cheers! :)

Hi all,

We have Trainz, Boatz, Shipz, Treez and with many thanks to Vulcan we have Planez. I am not too sure with need GAMEZ screenshots though.

BTW. Trainz is not a gamez, it's a way of life :hehe:

yes I agree, if you have an overwhelming urge to kill and destroy get a combat simulator, or join the real world forces, that will probably cure you of your urges.

cheers
