New Aircraft

Rob.
You wont see any difference as the update was requested to correct errors, however I noticed that a lot of dmdrake's
assets were updated in the process.
Cheers.
Norm.

Well I'm absolutely gobsmacked !! - not just the Thai 340-600 on the DLS that I was hoping for but a whole production line has been set up.

Many thanks in particular to Ian for the A340/B777/B787 base models and the UAL 777. To Pascal for the Cyprus A321 and the Malta A320. and to Rob725 for the ANZ/COA/DAL B777's.

My Heathrow modern day model will now start to look really authentic - the big downside at the moment is that changing to TS12 from TS2010 has caused a lot of AI timetable movements and signalling to screw up and it seems for every problem fixed another one is created.

Rob725 - if you are still taking requests for the Americas the Air Canada 777 and TAM 777 would be good - also the South African 340-600 that you mention. Also an American (old colours) B777 ?

Ian - After all your work, I feel cheeky asking you for yet another new model but an extended length B777-300 for British Airways would be good for visual authenticity.

Pascal - I notice you mention my wish list - my biggest wish now that Ian has produced the base is the Virgin Atlantic A340-600 because of the number of these movements at LHR. Anything on my original list however will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks again guys - really good surprise.

Bob

Hi nexusdj

I like your Dan-Air 146 and the Orion 737 - I remember those aircraft quite clearly at Gatwick. Not particularly appropriate for my Heathrow model but I notice you are doing scenery stuff?

Would you be interested in producing a more realistic looking airbridge? maybe a plain walkway spline with separate scenery items to individually place supports and the open doorway ends?

Bob

Cheers for the encouragement Bob. Gee you don't ask for much.. :hehe:

Funny you should mention the Air Canada B777. I've been working on that one for a couple of days now (on & off). The Air Canada aircraft are always much more difficult than the rest. The colour is a bit borderline with Trainz & I tend to have to do lots more work to make them look right. I should have it ready for download in the next few days.

The TAM won't come anytime soon. They only fly the longer B777-32W-ER. I will hold off until Vulcan gets a chance to build us one.

I have 3 American Airlines B777s on the list & will move them up the priority standing if you want. It'll take a little while because I'll have to go back to Vulcan to get some "shiny" applied to them. (Ian, I'll get the skins done first so you have something to work with.)

I'd like to finish off the B777 series while I'm in the groove & familiar with the model before I start on the A340s. I'm finding I can get them done quicker that way.

Yes that's fine Rob725 - I was just amazed to find so much new stuff on here in the space of a fortnight or so...... I've seen other comments about Trainz and colour shades but it doesn't bother me because I am a little colour blind anyway.

All contributions are appreciated - when you've all finished my wish lists next week, I'll find some more to keep you busy :hehe: :hehe:

Thanks
Bob

Yes - hadn't realised - looking at Jul 2012 timetable the TAM flight is a B77W - thought it was a -200

Hi Chaps.

Can anybody explain why I can't see any of these recent additions in the content manager for Trainz 2010?

Thanks in advance

John,

I has a similar problem with TS2010 a few months back. This was the response fron Auran that fixed it.

"Can you please run the 'network diagnostic' tool in Content Manager. This is done by opening Content Manager, then clicking on 'file', then on 'network diagnostics'. Once this has completed, please copy and paste the results into your reply to this ticket.

Could you also please try running an extended database repair in Content Manager.

To do this, first remove all items from the downloads queue, then go to 'file', and then click on 'extended database repair'. Once the repair has completed, please restart Content Manager, and then try downloading again."

Hopefully it will fix yours. A word of advice. Content manager is slow & un-reliable but conveinient. You may already know this, but for the benefit of others.

If you go to "Download Station" (click the "Download Station" button on blue bar at the top of page); search for the asset; click on "Download page";Select "Download (FTP); You'll find you can download 2 assets at a time & do it much quicker than via content manager. I'm not sure whether that is a daily limit for downloads, but if nothing else, it's quicker.

I hope that helps.

This is the next one the British Airways Boeing 777-336ER. It is a longer version with extended range.

It appears that the recent SP1 patch has fixed the broken fixed track assets. My airport taxiway turnout models now appear to be working.

Hi,

Another nice model, Ian, thanks.

My contribution for today:

With airline name both sides of the engines..

Many many many thanks Ian and Pascal !!! Two more authentic Heathrow models. The BA 777's these days make up a substantial proportion of LHR movements and although probably half are the shorter -200 variants, I am quite happy to operate my Heathrow with an all 777-300 fleet, unless of course you want to produce a -200 !

This will make a considerable visual difference because my 777's are currently DC10's in the old BA colour scheme - similar size but wrong colours and wrong number of engines.

I can't keep up with all this

Boeing 777-200ER - Air Canada

On a sunny summer day in Vancouver, an Air Canada B777 slides into the gate at YVR.

Later the big green bird just clears the end of the short runway 12 before climbing into the blue.

This one has been a long time coming for me. It was one of the aircraft I really wanted for my Vancouver route. It wasn't an easy re-paint. The Air Canada colour is really difficult to replicate in Trainz (I mentioned it before). The result is worth it. I hope you all agree.

Look to DLS for this one.

Next on my list is an American Airlines Boeing 777.

Bob,
If you can't keep up, stop asking for stuff! :o :hehe: You know we'll keep creating new aircraft if you ask. We can't help ourselves....

Thanks for that Rob - it's about time you got some self control.... I'm going to have to change my driver commands yet again to change some of my Canada 767's to 777's. Also my American DC10's to 777's (hopefully!) - (are they going to be the polished aluminium scheme?).

I'm getting pretty fed up of having to keep changing my operating schedules because you all keep producing new aircraft :'( :Y: I'm warning you - if you keep this up I'll have to produce an additional list !

I'm still ploughing through my timetable to eliminate problems that appear to be caused by changing to TS12 - a slow process. I promise that when I get on top of it, I'll swot up how to get pics onto here and show off your new models.

Thanks again
Bob

Thanks , At the moment I have no spare time for other projects , service pack 1 has thrown my timetable back by a week on other projects that I need to finish including fixing another 14 pieces of content with faults (all rolling stock) that I have on the DLS . So I'll have to decline at the moment on the airbridges , Hopefully someone else will take up the project but if not then I may have a look once these other projects are completed .

no worries nexusdj - quite happy to stay on your back burner. I daren't instal the service pack yet in case I add to problems I've got from changing from TS2010.

My airbridges look reasonably OK (from a distance and if you close your eyes) - made up from 2 lengths of SR footbridge, a sunken oil tank, a bucket elevator and gantry supports!

Bob

After beeing grounded for batteries problems, the Boeing 787 can fly again!

So this B787-8 of Ethiopian Airlines is authorized to take off!

Soon on the DLS
