New Aircraft

Hi,

The 747-200 are now available. Auran/NV3 needs approx 48 hours after upload for approval etc..
Bob, you are right, the 200 fuselage mesh is the one of the 400, so, without the winglets, it looks closer to the 300. I can understand that Vulcan is not keen to produce each sub-type of a particular aircraft..!
By the way, I should update my Corsair models which are 747-300 and remove the wingtips.

Hi,

I just uploaded this A320 of SilkAir, daughter company of Singapore Airlines:

a320silkair.jpg

And a batch of small french companies airplanes:

A320 Aigle Azur
A320 Air Corsica (2 liveries)
B737 Air Austral

Each aircraft is available in 2 alternatives: flying & static.

Hi,

I started to look at the wish list of Bob (Robert38a), and went to the Air Malta A320. The new livery is quite complicated but very interesting and colorfull.
I avoided the internet site adress on the engines, as it would appear reversed on the right side. Also this adress appears on the aircraft belly, but cannot be reproduced accurately.
Anyway, I hope it will be OK as it is..
Here, ready for take off:

The model should be available within a couple of days.

Hi Pascal,
Thanks for these lovely aircraft! Could I request an Air Ukraine International Boeing 737-800? Oh and an American767 in the new livery?
thanks

I'll get started on the American Airlines aicraft.
I wasn't even aware that there was a new sceme. A Wiki-search tells me that the merger with US Airways (and new paint sceme) is less than a month old.

I was sure that Rob would be interested by the American Airlines 767..:)

I started already to gather information on the Air Ukraine 737. Need some time anyway.

Fans at the DLS!

Hello Everyone,

With all of this heavy traffic to and fro, these airplanes need a resting place or a facility for maintenance! However, these huge facilities do need fans, big and small to filter out the dirty air!! LOL

Ben, our dear bridge master made these fans at my request -- Granted, they are call Marsz Fans, but as you can see from the screenshot below they are just regular fans which can be place on hanger rooftops or inside the hanger itself!

To view and download all just copy and paste this: MARSZ_Fan at the DLS or CMP+

Have Fun!!

BTW --- Great great screenshots Guyz!!

Thanks Ishie!

The B737 od Ukraine International (UIA) could be this one:

Flying & static aircrafts to be uploaded soon after final check.

I have a question for our british friends, regarding this picture:

What is this refueling tanker near this DEA DC3? It is painted with Shell and may be BP colors. (Edinburgh airport 1956)

Boeing 737 American Airlines (Post US Airways Merger)

The Painters are just about done painting the Boeing 737-800 in the new livery. American Airlines recently (Feb 2013) completed a merger with US Airways & they decided to come up with a new paint scheme to coincide.

This aircraft has been uploaded to DLS. It will be a few days before it is available for download.

I feel impelled to post here. I have looked through much of the thread and I'm blown away at the beauty of the models. Obviously the prototype is just as beautiful but they can not be seen in closeup. Although my allegiance is to 'wheels on steel rails', I think that aircraft modelling belongs in the Trainz field as much as do trains, cars and boats. I have long thought that Trainz should be 'World-wide Transport Modeller', it is flexible enough to warrant that sort of title.

Congratulations, guys, you re doing some wonderful work and I admire you, and a liitle bit jealous, 'cos my skills are not good enough.

Peter

PS, I meant to ask, will animated aircraft work out of and in to a portal?

Just treat the plans like a loco, they behave the same through portals.

Thanks papou and Rob725 for your latest aircraft productions.

Have been away and nice surprise waiting for me.

They will be downloaded and making their maiden flights into Heathrow once I have loaded everything into TS12. Taking time at 100MB per day.

Thanks again,

Bob

not a big fan of the merger just because of how it's going to affect my dad's work situation, and our state's economy as a whole. But it's a good looking scheme, might look a bit better if it had AA chrome instead of just the gray but this is just how the game works so no complaints at the reskinner.
on the note of the merge being official, yes it is official between the two companies but they still have to work with the commerce commission and the bankruptcy court to finalize everything. Who knows AA and USAirways could do this and end up with a S.P.S.F. (shouldn't paint so fast [Southern Pacific Santa Fe]) scheme

Amazingly good models on this thread and a big well done to a talented creator.

What we need now are some seaplanes for the aircraft carriers I am producing for WWII period and up to the late 60's. The SeaFire which was a descendant of the Spitfire and the Hawker Sea Fury and Skua, McDonnell Banshee for the Canadian Carrier Magnificent I am about halfway through now. Also the 2-seater Fairy Firefly.

Well, one can ask but warbirds may not be up this creators particular street.

Anyway keep on making planes whatever they are, they are great.

Thanks Peter for the nice comments, I try to do something different in Trainz and the aircraft models have taken over my interests for the last few years. I do the basic model and then that allows the other guys here to reskin to suit their needs, and provides a wider interest. I do believe that the Trainz platform should be used for other transport models as you say, it extends possibilities.

Yes they will use portals, but a portal has to be on the ground, to launch them up in the air the ground would have to be raised to make a hill to lift the portal up. I could find no way to use the height adjustment tag in the config for a new portal model. You also need to place a system of signals and speed limit signs to get them to come up to speed in any AI operation, otherwise they will never reach speed to retract the landing gear.If you are flying them from one portal to another, you need a large distance or again, they will not come up to speed.

Angela, thanks for the interest, I perhaps could modify my Spitfire to a Seafire, I like to make a range of models (Commercial, military and era), and the older ones are interesting. Most are commercial, this gives the guys more opportunity for reskins.

Alex, the new American 737 scheme is different from the original, I quote:

"Fans of American’s bare aluminum design should know that the polished metal look was no longer an option for the newer planes, which feature composite materials that must be painted. So silver mica paint will maintain the carrier’s “silver heritage,” the company said."

It still has some of the sheen of the original polished silver. I have downloaded Rob's reskin and applied his texture to the original mesh and upped the reflection from 10 to 25%. I think this gives a better representation of the new colours. I will send the new export model to Rob to see if he wants to use it as an update.

I have been taking a break from Trainz modeling (aircraft), perhaps time to get back to it.

Ian
