Neverfail really knows how to promote their games

It looks like most of these random simulators originally come from http://www.astragon.de/simulationen.html , a German developer. They are certainly distributed elsewhere in the world by other publishers. Oh, and there is a garden simulator - perhaps you can mow the lawn... :o

So, it doesn't look like Auran have been working on these when they should have been working on service packs...

Paul
What, do you mean to say most of this thread is ill informed, mischievous nonsense?

Personally, I like this bungee jumping simulator.

Hi All

Please keep in mind that N3V Games is the publisher for this, not the developer. In this case, our shop admin has used the developer's promotional video (or what appears to the developer's video) for the shop page.

This video was not created by us, as if it were, it would have been put under the N3V Games YouTube account. This video is not under that account.

I will, however, speak to the shop admin tomorrow regarding this, and see if we can have a more appropriate video put online :)

I guess Auran must have a target on it's back. Apparently the "in" thing to do is to diss them.
Are you saying that the video shown is not unbelievably poor, or that some of the "simulators" sold by Auran are not a dubious choice?

I think you've been on that side of the fence too long to be objective any more.

Smiley.

The video is at least useful in that it gives an example of game play even if the driver is rather inept.

As to whether it's a dubious choice, I can't really say as I've no idea (like most here I guess) as to how popular that subject is and how many sales have been made.

Looking forward to improvements of future Trainz versions and servicepacks. I myself have become somewhat of a shareholder in Auran, by purchasing a 1 year FCT (even though TRS2006 is set for non-support in just 31 days from now). Looks like I will be purchasing 09/10 shortly thereafter, which will also help keep Auran in business.

The other night my downloading speeds exceeded 417 kbs...zooma zoom zoom !

The real point that I was making is that the video that they chose to advertise the game makes me NOT want to play it. It has nothing to do with the content, or anything.

It would be like if TRS's video just showed some guy constantly derailing his train over a closed switch.

I can't believe so many of you are dissing on something niche when you'll get all ragey when someone says 'train simulators are boring, they just run on rails, hurr durr'.

Jesus christ people, surely us train sim users should know better than to dismiss other people's hobbies as boring, dull or stupid.

As for the video, it clearly states the developer name at the start of the video, and it isn't Auran.

Not to be picky, but the thread is titles Neverfail not auran :p (Yes I know that Auran is part of neverfail but it was worth bringing up anyway)

Regards,
Phil

I am one of those...thank you for the acknowledgement...!

It would appear that you have played the "Learn to Curse Sim" at an early age.

Since you are so critical about N3V/Auran... please show us all the great and perfect things that you have accomplished in your short lifetime.

Perhaps you should buy the new "Get A Life Sim".

Actually in most of the world "Damn" is not considered cursing. You yourself said he is from Australia where using the word "Damn" is fine. Maybe you need to get your head out of your ass and realize that people do things differently then they way you want them to.

Thank you Peter. I will contact a surgeon to perform the operation you suggest.

Perhaps it would be best if the Forum Mods exercise their judgment with regard to using certain words in conjunction with each other.

Have fun,

Phew!
I've been so busy the last few days, I haven't been able to come here and argue with people.
Still, I'm here now. :)

Jesus christ people, surely us train sim users should know better than to dismiss other people's hobbies as boring, dull or stupid.

Well, to quote myself, "I don't begrudge anyone the chance to drive trucks/trains/buses if that's their thing."

It's more the poor quality of those games that call themselves Simulators that I was having a go at.

Although I did say "Snowcat Simulator?, Really?", because I really find it hard to believe that anyone would fund such a game.
I guess they're running out of ideas. :) :)

And I never flinch when people tell me that Train Simulators must be boring.
I think "Fair comment", because it's not for most people.
But I'd be as dismissive as them if I knew someone who played a SnowCat Simulator.

Let's face it, when someone who likes Trains and Train games tells you that something like SnowCat Simulator sounds boring, you have to know you're playing at the bottom of the barrel. :hehe:

Hmm. If he can do that, and get Auran to post it on their site... Where do I sign up? I'd like to have a go at it. I love how the little plow pops up when he enters the garaged and flips it. Then he doesn't plow worth a darn and backs into the little plow after he's popped up his start menu. I guess he was having too much fun!

Again, where do I sign up? You know, that could be an ingenious way to promote things. You could think "Is it really that bad?". Thus leading you to end up purchasing it just to confirm and satisfy your curiousity. Although, I don't think many would be so free-willing to purchase these so-called "Simulators" right away.

Ron,
If he's so annoying to you, why do you even waste posting concerning it. It's technically not your job, nor is it an easy thing to say without being hurtful. Let him learn. You can accomplish much more with nicer things to say. Negative and bad words hurt and obtain much more power than nice ones; therefore, it's much easier to do more damage than actual good. Though, you know this. (I believe) However, judging by how it's currently looking, I can doubt myself. I know you are a very nice person and respected poster, and that's why I even dare to post something so bold as to tell you what's obvious. No hard feelings. It's not my job to say so either, but I feel someone has to say something. (besides Peter)

FlyingScottmond,
I suppose after all this conflict, I think it's safe to say, jokes can't be taken as lightly as intended. Just be careful with the next features your simulator will contain. Ron does have a point, cursing is a problem. For your situation, it can become one. Just be careful not to post too much of it, or else the harmless effect is lost. "Damn" is okay (according to Peter's post), but anything above and beyond is unwelcomed. I do enjoy the fresh humor. It gives a good comical feeling to read.

Smiley,
Yeah, NSV/Auran isn't at their best streak, but I hope that will change.

Sincerely,
Joshua
