Neverfail really knows how to promote their games

How about "Simulator Simulator"? First, you take your computer and simulate turning it on; then you.....

This thread is a good example of why the 'off topic' forum won't be making a return.
Actually, I think it's a good example of why we need one.
And as someone has already said, there's no arguments or flaming in this thread, and that's Auran's party line for why the off-topic forum was closed.

Don't forget they are publishers, nothing says they actually made this.
True, but for me, it has Auran's Jet written all over it.
I may be wrong about that, but at the very least, publishing all these different sub-par "simulators" is hardly likely to make any hardcore Train-Simmers take Trainz seriously.

They're calling everything "simulator", and most of them are arcade looking, and not very polished.

Train/Truck/Bus simulator could be fun if it really was simulating everything it could on a computer (Trainz does it), and arcade type games like Transport tycoon/18 wheeler etc, give you a quick blast of fun without taking themselves too seriously.

So it's the mislabelling of games like that breakdown truck game that's clearly arcade, that's the problem.
But I'd play Train/Bus/Truck simulators if they stated what they were meant to be, and had more work put into them.

When I spend hours doing one of the endurance races on Forza Motorsport 3, my family think I'm nuts, but that's ok.
Each to his own and all that.
I don't begrudge anyone the chance to drive trucks/trains/buses if that's their thing.

But as I said earlier;

Snowcat Simulator?
Really?

And here I was shooting down an idea for a "MTA/ NYCTA" version of trainz due to the fact that auran ussually does not produce games for such a small demographic..... they did a heck of a job proving me wrong with this.... so is this were the time and money goes?:hehe: I'd personally prefer an upgrade to their allready stable base products. But thats just me.....

Jokes asside, they clearly could have done a better job picking the demo-er for the game. Unless by chance they are trying to anger us into purchasing such a game just to prove that the original user is horrible at playing it and that we can in fact drive umm..... plow circles around him...

cheers

Seriously, for Advertisements for TRS2010, WHY are they still using Freight cars with those God-awful 2D-ish Black Bogeys?

Haven't they come out with any new freight cars?

For goodness sake, simulatortrain makes better looking freight cars AND bogeys than what they 'show off'. And he does things for 04/06!

(OH NOES NOT THE OUTDATED EVILNESS THAT WORKS BETTER - NOOOOOOOOOO)

Hey motorbreath...duh...we already have the cotton-picking simulator....

:hehe: I want to gimme-pig the Snowcat sim-developers for a Caterpillar Challenger tractor asset...with custom cab...

Speaking of bad advertising, the annimation in the banner on the ts2010 website is rubbish, you can't read the writing and when you finally zoom in to it out of interest you see that it was made for 2009, they didn't even bother to change it to say 2010 :hehe:

How about a shop simulator were you have customers coming into your shop and either buying products, stealing products or complaining about products, you could even throw items of products at your fussiest customers so they don't come back and complain, you could confuse all your customers by replacing the entire stock you sell, with new stock or by moving the stock around the shop...

After a while when you get bored, you could close your food store down, and then open up as a hair dresser, and give all your customers a moheekan haircut and charge them 75 bucks for the privalege, and if they complain, then shave the whole thing off, charge them an extra 75 bucks, and let them walk round bald...

Or you could open up as a pub or restaurant, get all your customers drunk, get them to throw up, get them to all have a sing-a-long, they could flood the toilets out and finally, end the night with a huge fight... game on

Do you know, it wouldn't suprise me if this is already in the pipeline.

It looks like most of these random simulators originally come from http://www.astragon.de/simulationen.html , a German developer. They are certainly distributed elsewhere in the world by other publishers. Oh, and there is a garden simulator - perhaps you can mow the lawn... :o

So, it doesn't look like Auran have been working on these when they should have been working on service packs...
