Or do you need more information ?

You need an Ethernet cable with the connections reversed. Anywhere that sells Ethernet cables should have this type of cable which is non standard or could make one up to connect two PCs.

Thanks John & poppins With the Ethernet i will be able to get to the Internet with both PCs ? (At the same time like you can with cable/with router)

Sadly, no. A dialup connection is way too slow to consider sharing. You will need a broadband connection (dsl or cable) and a router to share an internet connection.

The dialup connections would run at half speed but it would work.

Whilst it could be done I wouldn't really like to configure this. I'd use one machine to browse the Interenet, save files to a shared folder then copy them across.

Do you have any broadband options? That with a router would be much simpler and one of the nice Linksys ones would give you a fairly solid firewall.

Both computers have wireless cards (Ethernet adapters), why not use those to connect the computers, its known as an 'ad-hoc' network, much tidier than having a cable slung between the two :D
On the computer with the modem attached you will have to turn on "internet sharing"

Cheers David

It would not be that difficult to setup actually, as David said above, you would have "Internet Connection Sharing" enabled on the computer that has the modem attached to it.

But again as Whitepass said, it would be slow if you tried to access the internet at the same time on both computers.

I had the setup a few years ago before I got broadband, I had 3 computers connected together through a port switch or a 'hub' as they are sometimes called.
