Need thread on TRS2004 & Wide screen monitors (reason I can't search)

Red_Rattler

Since 09 May 2003
The reason I'd rather not search is I want to use the monitor as little as possible. Sometimes the picture concaves in on both sides.

Can someone direct me to a thread about TRS2004 & wide screen monitors please?, or maybe just provide a VERY brief summary (don't need how to fix) does TRS2004 work with widescreen monitors.

I can definitely tell you that my 04 works very well on a wide screen (22inch, 1360 x 768). You might need to enter the native resolution into the preferences of your graphics card to get it to behave?

Cheers
Russell.

cross fingers the screen doesn't concave again!

okay thanks.

This is for TRS2004 just need one or maybe two replies on this: what resolution do you play 2004 in, and the maximum screen (oh sorry monitor - got to please the PC brigade!:hehe: ) size do you use?

PS: Knowing my luck as soon as you replace somethng, the fault on the original will disappear!

I'm using a 19" Wide screen monitor with Trainz display set at 1024x768 and having no probs with the display. Ideal setting for me.

Screen concaved a few times yesterday, (cross fingers again!)

Does Trainz & MSTS (if someone also has MSTS - NO saying which is better please) stretch when using wide screens?

What does it mean when the picture on the screen concaves (ie: picture curves in at the middle for a while)?

MSTS does stretch on my screen. I added the line -vm:w,1024,768,16 to the Train.exe line and it runs in a window at that resolution. Just right click on the actual train.exe icon, not the launcher. In the box that pops up, select properties and add this to the end of the line with a space between .exe" and -vm. Just be sure to set this as your shortcut on the desk top. If you launch with the launcher short cut you will get the stretched screen.

I also added :
-width=1680
-height=1050
to my trainzoptions.txt for TRS2004 and it runs and looks great. (This is my screen resolution, substitute yours)
