Need rock spline for tunnel

Approach_Medium

Trainz Addict
Hi;
I am using the AJS tunnel kit, and would like a rock spline to use instead of the AJS terrain spline, since most of the tunnels I have seen in prototype are bored into rock, not a grassy hillside.

I have found one rock spline, "rockface.." by haegarle, which look very good, but cannot be used above the tunnel portal because they are too high. I like the way they look on the sides of the portal however.

There are the FMA hillside rock splines by sura, but these don't have enough resolution for my desire.

I have also used the Rock Shale 01 by Auran, which are not splines, but objects. These look OK, but are difficult to place, and using more than a couple of them looks unnatural. The shale does not mix well with the rockface by haegarle. Two completely different types of rock that would not be found together.

Anyone got any that I haven't looked at?

Thanks

Re rock splines

I am puzzling over your statement "the rock splines ... are too high".

Seems to me the solution is to adjust the spline height (one or both ends) until it meets your satisfaction. Even if half or more of the spline is buried in the ground.

No: The rock splines are too high or too large by themselves. If you lower it into the ground, they will show inside of the tunnel and "block" the passage of trains. What is needed is a rock spline with enough resolution at close range, and small enough so that it can positioned over the tunnel and still be up to the high of the mountain or hill. I think this is what is being asked above.. Using sophisticated technics I got around this problem. In the future we plan to release my route, and it will be shown.

Yes. This is exactly what I was referring to. Those splines are fine for the sides of the tunnel, but if I want to use them on top, I would have to raise the height of the terrain above the tunnel to match it.
