Need help with correct operation of steam loco

Hello, I am just wondering what is the best way to manage the cutoff and throttle in a steam loco while accelerating, while at speed, while climbing a hill and while slowing down or stopping. Thanks in advance for the help.

There is a section in the Manual on page 73 of the hard copy version that may help. The soft copy should be in ..\TS12\extras\documentation.
