NEED HELP, idle message cannot contact the D/L station

I am getting is a idle message cannot contact the D/L station

I don't know what is going on but as soon as I try to down load content from the DS (2004), I get the above message. This has been going on for days and I am getting annoyed
I have a FCT
windows xp
I have reset my pass word
Please help

Quite a few of us are having the same problem. It is now getting annoying as it seems Auran are taking no notice of us. Some kind of notification would be acceptable, even to let us know they are aware of the problem

I don't seem to be having a problem here at 0953 EST. Perhaps there was a problem earlier that Auran fixed without notifying anyone.

I have been having the same problem now for five days cannot contact download station, being sent to my profile page all the time, have already put in four threads and sent ticket to auran . Still waiting for reply. What is going on.

I just tried to lodge a ticket about this problem in the help desk only to find this reply to a problem I had awhile ago

Download helper may not be working, but there is nothing wrong with the FTP method.
While you lot have been sat whinging, I have been happily downloading some great loco reskins by tmz, if I can do it, anyone can.

FTP may be another option if you only want 1 item at a time, but many of us have paid for a FCT. Is it not fair that we should at least be able to get some response from AURAN as to what is being done about the problem.

So use FTP instead of the download helper, that's what I'm doing & I've downloaded loco's routes & scenery items at a faster rate on FTP than you get with download helper.

Hi everyone,

While I have read a number a threads with similar problems, I have had no problems at all. Maybe the way I use the DLS is a possible solution to you.

I have 2004, and I also use a program called "TrainzAgent" for my downloads. It is very easy to use and I have been using it for years. Basically when you look at items on the DLS and see something you want, you "drag" the image into TrainzAgent. You can then have TA check to see if you already have it and also if you need any Dependencies for the item, such as in a Loco or a layout. You can also save the CDP's to a location to store them.

About the only "downfall" is that you need an image of the item to have this work. Many Packs these days do not have an image, so I have to download each item in the Pack. As I say though, TA will find any dependences you need, providing the Config File is correctly created and has the Dependencies correctly list.

Find an item on the dls.
Click on "Download Page" (the second option down in yellow).
Click on "Download (FTP)" (the lower of the 2 options in yellow).
If there are any dependencies, they will be listed below the above, I save these to cart, then check with TrainzObjectz if I need them or not, if I do then I download them from the cart via FTP.

Yet another day and I still can NOT download anything from the DLS
Same message : idle cannot contact DLS

It seems that No one is trying to solve this problem, YES I know there are stuff shortages at auran, but with so many having same problem, surely someone could take the time to fix it.

As for having a FCT, what a waste of money
