Thankyou for your kind comments. It is indeed a very interesting system, sadly ignored by most railway enthusiasts. I assume the Kitson-Meyer you refer to is this one:

It is indeed very impressive, it would look excellent in Trainz but that valve gear would be a pain to model! I wonder how many Kitson-Meyers they are operating in the world, there is one here in the UK but unrestored, sadly. The route has been uploaded on to the DLS with the title "Railroading in the Pampas". It is one board only, not really a complicated route, but still quite fun.
Re the smoke, I think the loco has been updated at somepoint for TS2010 compatibility, that might be the reason it has been changed.
I have a basic drawing(I think it's a CAD export) of that Kitson-Meyer if anyone is interested, I've been meaning to get to it but haven't done so, so if anyone is interested just send me something.Thankyou for your kind comments.
