Sometimes when I try to move to a new loco or train, view a train's

contextual menu, free roam ahead of the train, or anything like this, the

game freezes. :( I don't nknow how to stop this from happening. Please

help.

I'm not real good with computers, but it is windows vista, C drive is only half full, and coincidentially enough there have been no problems since posting this forum with trainz freezing. I will post more info as I find it out!!!

You need to be more specific, 'something' doesn't give us many clues to help you.

What are you selecting exactly, from what menu, on which asset, in what situation?

Mike.

I have tried running "GWR Branch Tank", and when I have switched from 1 loco to the Branch Tank, the game has Frozen.

I have tried selecting "View Details" in the Contextual menu on "LMS Black 5" during driving, and the game froze again.

The Game Froze after Derailing a "GWR Dean Goods" loco.

After postioning "Tree 10" in surveyor once, the game froze.

Moving ahead of a train (on 2 occasions) using the "Free Roaming" feature has frozen the game.

Running the NSWGR 3801 has frozen the game.

Placing 2 NSWR locos next to each other and running the simulation has frozen it.

Rotating the camera around a consists.

These are just some of the things that freeze the game. I am running TRS2006 in Direct X, but I have also tried switch to Open GL and the results were not much different.

I think the key word here is Vista. Do a search here on the forum to read up on the subject of running Trainz on a Vista OS.

Have you tried putting all the graphics settings to minimum (texture detail, view distance etc.)? If the problem then ceases it might be that your system/graphics-card is struggling. This app is very greedy with system resources.
