My specs in regards to TANE

Hi all, I posted this question in the Forum pertaining to questions regarding TANE and was advised it would be better suited for this forum. I asked how should I expect the game to run on my pc as TS12 has always paused and stuttered, especially when moving the view around or a lot was loaded in. I thought this was due to perhaps dated software used in TS12 and it simply not getting along with my PC as everything new I play on there such as iracing, battlefield etc.. runs at near max or max smoothly. Someone suggested a SSD when I asked a long time ago but I could not afford one and instead got a velociraptor drive.

My current specs are:
Sapphire Radeon 7850 2gb card
8gb corsair ram
AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 8 core 3.1ghz processor
Asrock 990FX Extreme 4 mobo

If the new engine is anywhere near well optimised then that set-up will be absolutely fine. However I assume TANE will still load assets in the same way Trainz does, hence an SSD would be optimal.

The only thing you haven't mentioned is your operating system. For ideal operation, it is likely to need Windows 7/8/8.1.

As long as it's the 64-bit edition you shouldn't have any issues there. The only thing to check though is that your graphics card supports DirectX 11 (although most modern ones do).

No if your version of Windows is not 64-bit. You need the 64-bit edition for TANE, and there's no way round that. Also, you haven't specified how much memory you have, although I've a feeling it's 4GB or less which probably wouldn't be enough either.

The Samsung EVO series is one of the best solid state drives available at this moment in time so I commend you on your choice of drive. Personally I would choose something around the 256GB mark since you may find yourself short of space over time. Just look at me with a 64GB Crucial M4, nice drive but I can't put much on it. :hehe:

Decided to go ahead and order the Samsung EVO 840 250GB SSD today and pre-ordered TANE. Wanted to get the boxed version but we plan on moving in the next 1-2 months and still not yet sure where to and I didnt want my copy being mailed to my current address when its released so digital download it is. :)

The release date isn't until December, just in time for Christmas, so if Santa knows who is naughty and who is nice I'm sure he will know where everyone lives!

I decided to go a step further on my upgrade. I got a AMD FX-8350 processor and Radeon R9 270x 4gb card today. IF anyone would be interested in my old stuff as a cheap upgrade to theirs, PM me.
