My Route Will Not Save

Glenethson

Some Might Say
The route I am working on will not save, it saves like it usally does and i come to the surveyor page with all my other routes, then if i enter it straight away all the things I have saved are their, but if I exit the game completely then come back to the route again all the things i have done are not there, its like it was yesterday when I was on the route.

I had built part of a station and done a baseplate of 5 and 6 track electrification and I have done it twice only to lose it twice so you can understand how this is annoying this is. It has happened twice now. My laptop has plenty of free space. I've had a lot of problems over the last week and this has topped them all off.

How do I stop this?

Cheers

What version of Windows are you usig?

If you're using Windows Vista, you need to run and install Trainz using the Adminstrator's rights otherwise you can't save.

Yes, I have Vista, so do you know how I run and install the adminstrator's rights?

When you install Trainz...

Instead of letting the CD AutoRun, Open it up in Explorer and look for the Setup.exe file. Right mouse-button click on the exe and choose Run As Adminstrator.

The program will install as Administrator and it will be all set.

Do the same thing with SP1 (don't run Trainz yet) if you need to install it.

When you're read to run Trainz, you'll need to setup the shortcut to always run as Administrator. To do this:

Right mouse-button click on the shortcut, and choose Properties...
Choose the Compataiblity tab and check Run as Administrator at the bottom.

Go to the Auran/Trainz folder where you installed it on the hard drive.
Look for any Exe files and choose each one seperately. Right mouse-button click on each one and set to run as Administrator.

Open up the Bin folder, and repeat for the files in there as well.

This will ensure that the program will always run with administrator's rights.

Here's a couple of suggestions that help speed things up a bit:

Run Content Manager seperately from Trainz its self (avoid the launcher for this). This has some benefits.

1) Runs and loads faster because there's less in memory to start.

2) You can run this anytime without launching Trains.

3) You can run this as Administrator.

Go to where you installed the program. Look in the Auran\Trs2006\Bin folder.

Creat a short cut and place it on your desktop.
Do the proprties thing outlined above on this shortcut
Apply and close.

CMP will run seperately.

Hope this helps.

So, just to save the game I need to reinstall?

hi, simple answer is to right click on the desktop icon, go to properties, compatability tab, and check the run as administrator box
