My registration key is cut off what do i do?

So Auran could in theory just pluck a code out of that "database" so to speak and give it to him.

I don't think that will happen.

With Auran. No never will happen. With other companies it would happen...of course with other companies good luck getting someone who speaks English....

They have the full capability of helping him. It is just a matter of playing politics.
Absolutely nothing to do with playing politics....it's just good business sense....and even in theory they couldn't pull a number out of a database to make it work. Each disc has it's serial number encoded on the disc....not any number will work...how would the know which one it is? No one with common sense would expect them to offer support for a purchased used game....which is why trying to make them out to be bad guys for not doing it is rather....funny...

That may be the case with Auran's discs. But most big name companies don't even bother with encoding anything like that on a disc, in which case they don't need to know which it is. As long as the registration code works they don't need to know what disc it is. I can go buy a game from any of the big game companies now that I already own, and enter my code from my old version into the new one and presto it works. Why? Because the individual codes aren't encoded to the disc. I would doubt that auran would take the time to carefully encode each and every disc with the matching code as the sticker otherwise that defeats the purpose of the sticker now doesn't it? Not to mention Auran doesn't really control what the other budget companies do with the copies of trainz, they could do exactly what the big game companies do.

If you purchased the item as new through Amazon.com your best recourse is through Amazon not Auran. They (Amazon) have procedures in place to deal with such issues. Go to Amazon's home page, scroll down and click on "returns" at the very bottom of the page. Follow the instructions given.
