My PMs: I got notification my Inbox was full, but it's not full, can't see message

I got a notification that my inbox was full about three hours ago, yet my Inbox is not full, and I can't see their private message - I think it's a reply.

And that's another issue, why is my Inbox only allowing only 4 or 5 private messages at a time?

So if that person thinks I'm not replying, that's wrong, as I can't see your message.

I believe the "total count" includes the sent messages as well. It's actually a very small amount if you are trying to carry on a conversation with someone.

This is the main reason why rarely use Private Messages. In this era of terabytes and petabytes, it's astounding how we're still just allowed 50 measly text messages that probably amounts to less than 10KB total.

Right now we have 670,548 users. Assuming all of us completely fill up our inboxes and outboxes, that would add up to 6,705,480KB, which is 6.7GB.
An 8GB flash drive costs $4.99 on Amazon right now.

This forum is probably run off an enterprise class hard drive, I'll give you that. Here's one:
1TB for $93 dollars. 6.7GB would cost 62 cents.

Or, more realistically, this forum is run off a horrible hosting company called The Planet/Softlayer/IBM.
They're charging $149 for 1.5TB of bandwidth a month. 6.7GB would cost 66 cents. < This is assuming all 670,548 users send 50 messages simultaneously.

With all that considered, I'm baffled why the chief means of user-to-user interaction on this board is hindered with such a primeval capacity. N3V, raise these limits! It takes like two minutes to edit a number in vB admin.

It should be a 30 second job for an admin to increase the pm limit for a user group on a vBulletin forum. Leastwise it was last time I had any involvement. 50 is the default setting it can go up or down even.
