I have just purchased Transdem to do my next project..

now all I need to do is find out how to use it and where to get eh data I need to create my project..

I'm actually looking forward to it.. having mountains tunnels and bridges and crossing loops towns and creeks rivers and motorways all sorts of wonderful things to model .. yeah baby

bring it on...

Oh yeah the only down side is that its like 99k's of work... standard gauge tracks. and will fit nicely between the Brisbane and north coast NSW routes already on the DLS.. maybe even merge into them give rail operations from Fisherman's island my current project and casino...

So if anyone can help with access to the data for transdem .. all the vector maps and stuff.. I'll be your friend LOL ...

Targanon,

Good on you for purchasing TransDEM. I did the same last year, and ny (un)productivity has increased five-fold.:hehe: Seriously, I spend more time in GE looking at various rail lines going 'ooh, that line looks like fun to model', preparing a DEM map, starting some work, then repeating the whole process over again the next week.

You seem like you're different to me, if your screenshots are anything to go by, however, so I can't see the above becoming an issue. So in that case, I suggest looking up the TransDEM forums, first off, and if that is no help, you may wish to have a look at this thread.

Cheers,

Matt.

G'day Targanon,

...so that means you won't be needing the assistance from me that you have requested in the Private Message you sent me the other day (which 'slipped through' my usual checks and to which I was about to respond when I saw this thread, here)?...

...mattm's advice is well worth taking and f I can assist you in any way with understanding the intricacies of TransDEM, then do not hesitate to ask...

Yes, congrat's on your decision to purchase TransDem.
You will not be dissapointed. TransDem will save you countless hours in terrain generation. It is accurate and a dynamite tool for modeling prototype routes to import into Trainz.
As mentioned above, the TransDem forums is a good place to pick up a few tutes. The TransDem documents, furnished with the program also has a number of tutes and examples as well as pointers on where to download data for your area.
