1. in TS12 and TANE: static 3D trucks and cars by dinorius_redundicus: most of them over time tend to float above the ground even after they were planted with their tires firmly on the ground repeatedly in Surveyor: the old Ford stepside pickups are the only ones that seem to stay firmly planted on the ground once placed there

2. working in Surveyor, TS12 only: the mouse compass seems to move more sluggishly over certain parts of a map than other parts; setting draw distance and anti-alias on minimum settings seems to help some: the camera zoom can be sluggish too at times, slow to zoom in closer when high above the map but then suddenly zooming in way too close to the ground after a lag in action

Does Surveyor, even that of TS12, tend to perform smoother with with a multi-GB graphics card? I am aware by now that TANE demands higher-end hardware.

3. Why does Surveyor in TS12 freeze a few seconds about every couple minutes while working in it? This is especially irritating when this happens while I am using a Surveyor tool to try to move or position something. Intermittent game freezes are common in Driver as well. Is weak hardware the main culprit here?

It's a long story. I went to a lot of effort adding a script written by Andi06 to all my vehicles, the purpose of which was to enable users to set the float height to suit whatever roads were used on a layout (they are different in this respect). It also allowed other settings like the time of night that the lights switched on. That was all for TS2010. Shortly after I did that, TS12 came along and broke the script to some extent. I've never gone back an updated them (removed the script and associated files). You could try using the properties button on a static vehicle - it should open a control panel where you can set float height etc in that. From memory if you do one vehicle, all the others on the layout are adjusted too.

For performance, unplugging your Ethernet cable, stops some processes that slow down Trainz ... maybe you have auto save turned on, and it is saving, resembling freezing
