Life can be cruel, and the bad things always seems to hit the good ones, like yourself Joe,
Thank you for all you valuable help you have given me in the past, to you and to many others on here who have helped me enjoy my trainz experience more. I wish I could wave a magic wand, and everything would be great again, the best thing you can do is take each day at a time, and enjoy every bit of it.
Good luck my friend, things will become very difficult, not just for you, but for your family, and I do understand, as I have had to deal with my mum, my dog and my dad all having cancer at the same time in 2010, thankfully my mum was saved, just, my mum died on the table twice, but was thankfully brought back, but I lost my dad to cancer of the spine, and I had to put my dog down because of a tumer and a growth in her chest in 2010.
The best thing you can do is try and keep smiling and remember everyone around you loves you very much, and they will always be there for you, even when it gets too hard to bear.
My thoughts are with you my friend,

This is probably the (stupidest &) bravest decision you've ever made! You're my best mate and you're passing will leave a big hole in my life, but I support what you've decided and will stand by you right to the very end. I just hope Heaven knows what it's taking on by letting you in

Just a quick update my health has gone down a bit compared to when I first told you about my illness, starting to feel more tired than I was and also slightly more breathless and also starting to get joint pain but I knew all this when I made the decision not to have treatment.
Keep safe out there and look after each other as you never know when life will be taken from you.

I agree with Electra ;P But on a more serious note (even though I might be copying him almost word for word), Joe, you've been my friend for the past 4-5 years and it is going to hurt a bit when you go, but it is your decision, and I'm behind you on it 100%.
A quick update, I am still alive and kicking 7 weeks after I was told I would have 4-6 weeks left. I so love upsetting the medical profression :twisted: I am getting tired more easily than I was but am still able to get out and about takeing photographs of trains. I must get into Trainz and upload a screenshot or 2 All I can think of writing atm so will sign off speak later
All I can think of writing atm so will sign off speak laterI may not be in such a serious situation as you, but believe me, I take more medication than anyone in my family and extended family. Why? Here's the reasons:
1. I have autism (and I'm not ashamed to admit it).
2. I have Epilepsy (Nobody else in my family or extended family has epilepsy) (I take two or three pills just for this.)
3. I have Atention Deficent Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficent Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) (I continously get them confused)
4. Heart problems run in the family (my cousin had to be defibrillated to get his heart to beat normally)
5. My grandfather has alzheimer's (hereditary too. Means my dad is next to get alzheimer's. My time will come when I start losing my memory. My grandmother also told my dad last time we were up there to start choosing what to keep and what to sell.) (One of my great aunts has this too, but as far as I know, it's not hereditary)
I take about nine pills at night (some of those are multiple-times-a-day), and ten in the morning. Majority is perscriptions, the rest is over-the-counter. I have racked up more medical bills than anyone else in my family. I know that my medical bills and problems pale in comparison to your situation, and I wish the best for you and your family.

Dear Joe, jordon and many silent witnesses,
I feel very hesitant and shy and scared to respond because foreign language, wrong wording despite good intentions etc. What can we say until similar things happens to us. it always looks like a different world until someone loved, near, known, friend you name gets confronted and make you realize every minute in life spent well and healthy is priceless.
Jordon you are a brave young man the way you write and handle it you have my admiration and full respect.
Joe many times the little voice in us some call it an angel, some something else but in my life most times I listen to it and follow my guts and guts feeling and intuition and defy all odds(not talking about health).
One thing I learned in my blessed life so far is mental health and mental strength is winning more than half the war of any illness. Living for quite a while in South East Asia i get more and more convinced that self healing and working on mental strength is one probably most people neglected or not know. I do this all my life nobody taught me it's inside me for some unknown reason.
Concentration and focus and good things and goals and will to not let them get you might lift your spirit in such a way inside it ignites things for the better. I just wanted to inspire you yes you can and not just accept what people say and get 3 or 4 different opinions in case like you. Doctors are humans and in some cases hospitals are business as usual or worse business only.
If my wording sounds wrong think about the underlying good intention from the heart that is what is counting nothing else so please accept my humble try to help and or support a little bit at a time.

Hello all just though I had better give you a brief update as to how I am doing. I am on week 13 on being alive after my diagnosis and I have had a change of heart and I have decided to have treatment after all. I am currently in bath RUH currently having some blood pumped into my body to get my red blood cells up which appears to be working as I have got colour in my cheeks for the first time in ages. Just waiting to see the consultant and decide on the treatment from there. All I can think of writing at this moment so will sign off.
