Murchison 2 "modified" screenshots...

Hmmm, better bust out those Switch heaters, I smell some Hot Chocolate in the Loco on the cold nights, Winter looks to be approaching. Nice work sir as always..........!

Hey Meatloaf, how is it that your able to modify this route? I heard that you couldn't edit it in any way shape or form

I actually got the DLC for TS12 and then used the freeware route from sirgibby's site. It's almost the same route, Murchison Part 2 i believe it is. Buy buying the DLC you get his Nature Series of cliffs ans whatnot as well as the sessions for the route, but the route from his site is almost 1:1 the same route. If you don't buy the DLC you'll need to buy the Nature Series assets from his site though.

If by freeware you mean the demo route. i did download it, i just don't know how to install it.

It might have something to do with the fact that i'm running trainz build 61388

The version of M2 you see in my screenshots thread is from my modified 2006 version. The 2006 version of M2 was updated in 2009/2010 with new track, points, new 29 sessions, etc, etc...

You a can still modify Murchison 2 in TRS2006, TS2009, TS2010 & TS2012 49922 if you can somehow acquire the Stand-A-Lone Boxed Version of M2. If you can, install the Murchison2.ja file into the Built-in folder & put Murchison 2's serial number in "settings".

Any Trainz version above TS2012 57xxx (or above) M2 is DLC and is currently not modifiable...

Hope this clarifies things for you.

Cheers, Mac...

The modifiable boxed version of Murchison 2 (for TRS2006,TS2009, TS2010 & TS2012 49922) can still be purchased from Sirgibby's NZ web site; http://trainzone.co.nz/trainzone_downloads2.htm

Thanks for getting back to me on this Meatloaf. Though i'm sorry to say that i'm running Build 61388, so i'm kind of out of luck.....

Then again, i did notice that there was 24 in gauge version of Murchison2 as well as a trial version of the same the route that was marked as freeware on Sirgibby's site.

Those two could work, i'ed still need to get the payware content to complete the trial and 24 gauge versions.

Your thought's on the matter?

Bill69 (another Kiwi) did the conversion from SG Murchison 2 to 3ft 6in (42") gauge on Sirgibby's NZ web site. He did it because 3ft 6in (42") is the standard NG gauge for the whole of New Zealand. Bill did the mod so he could run NZ 42" loco's & rolling stock on his modified 42" version of Murchison 2.

Foot note; I don't run TS2012 SP1 HF4 63588. I only run TS2010 49933, TS2012 49922 & Tane SP2.

STLSF4003 - Answers to your questions below in #190

1/ No. Spoke to Michael this afternoon and he confirmed that he is no longer selling the boxed version of M2. He's only selling M2's serial number, so M2 can be downloads as DLC. (DLC comes from N3V server)...

2/ Yes.
Exactly the same route in both. Difference is, there is no Surveyor or CMP in the Stand-A-Lone. (Stand-A-Lone is no longer available).

3/ No.
Murchison 2 DLC version is not editable in TS2012 SP1 HF4 61388.

Buying the DLC version of Murchison 2 from either SirGibby web site or N3V will give you M2 in TS2012 SP1 HF4 61388. Enter the serial number in "Setting" and it will auto download next time you run TS2012 as long as you are on the internet.
If you then downloaded the 42' and-or the SG M2 layout from SirGibby's site, you SHOULD BE ABLE to edit/modify the 42' & SG M2 layouts that you downloaded from SirGibby's web site.. You will already have the Natures Series installed, via the DLC version of M2... Cheers...

If you are thinking about buying the payware Nature Series 1 & 2 from Sirgibby's NZ site, IMHO you might as well buy the "Boxed Version" of Murchison 2 (which includes the Nature Series). That way, you can run Murchison 2 as a separate Stand-A-Alone if you want.

I don't know if you brought the Natures Series 1 & 2 from SirGibby's site and then downloaded the 42" NG version (that doesn't have the Natures Series in the 42" download) whether that would work in TS2012 SP1 HF4 63588. I assume it would work, but I've personally never tried this way...

Hmm, you know what i think i'll do just that. But first a few more questions, if it's alright with you that is.

1. Is SirGibby still actively shipping the boxed version on his site?

2. is there a difference between running the route as a stand-a-lone and as a regular route in Trainz?

3. Despite the fact that i'm running build 63588, will i still be able to edit the boxed version once i install it?
