Multi-Player Servers

IS there a way to search for current Multi Player sessions??

Most games I play have this option and there are thousands of servers.. Thanks?

Far as I know, no. If you have a route installed that has a multiplayer session someone created for it, when you click on that route it should automatically search for currently active multiplayer sessions, but if there's a public multiplayer for some other route you won't know it's happening unless you have that route installed and select it. One major problem is compatibility, TS12 and TS Mac is a crapshoot and even within TS12 all players have to have the same build number. Trying to get it kickstarted I talked Nels Anderson into setting up a new subforum for Trainz multiplayer;

If we can ever get enough people to schedule and host public sessions the situation should improve in the future.

According to a previous post by Zec, it's not the build number that determines whether you can join a multiplayer session - it's your trainz-build version (3.5 or 3.6).

Hee-hee, you just put your finger right on the main problem with the whole thing. Everyone who wants to play multiplayer is sitting around with their minds in neutral waiting for somebody else to create multiplayer sessions and host public multiplayer games. You go first. No, YOU go first. I'M not going first, let SOMEBODY ELSE go first. :hehe:

I did a member search here and on several other trainsim forums, can't find anyone named "SOMEBODY ELSE" so those who want multiplayer need to get off their collective keesters and get started.

Thee needs to be a dedicated server.exe, so that someone could put a server up and keep it up. The lack of one is keeping me from getting into TS12.

I'm sorry to inform you all that "someone else" died late in 1999. There was a funeral but noone came. They all thought someone else was there.

At the top of your route list there is three triangles the one to the left is the one that tell you if anyone playing on a route that you have. Click on the route that someone playing then session of that route wait a few minutes for it to fine who playing,click on that session then click on join session. It may take up to 5 minutes for the session to load,depenes on how big the map is.
