MP40PH-3C on Amtrak????

They'll sell 'em off after the MP's get back from Boise. Most of them are back in service on the Milwaukees though. Still see 611 and 614 every so often.
Metra is not gonna sell there F40PH units no time soon. They just contracted them for another 10years. I was told by a fellow engineer.
 
LOL but you missed my piont. Ya sure Amtrak uses different equipment BUT what im saying I is that amtrak in a SORTA WAY owns them because caltrain is a owned branch from amtrak.

I didn't miss the point. The point is that Amtrak has constantly gave the right power for there passenger trains and well, a commuter engine like that would be a failure. It would have success on a commuter railroad like SEPTA (South Eastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority). That is, if SEPTA does allow diesel powered runs.
