He is using his phone for online communications right now..... Good day to all of you who gave him good comments on his work, he appriciates that a lot...

Too Bad - Hope He Comes Back Soon

Hope he gets things worked out, whatever they are. He seems to have a lot of talent for creating locos and railcars. Hope he finishes some of his projects and makes them available, whether by freeware or payware.

if he has an iphone, or an android device, could he just transfer over to a mobile device, and upload to a file host server (usually works for me)?

Relax gentlemen the project isn't dead. The body of metra unit 401 is complete. It just needs dependencies. As for the other units they need to be configured for auto running numbers which is something I still have to learn. I'm still working on them and have even started the Marc 3c version. Its just going to be a while before I can release them. I wanted to create a web page to host everything so until I'm unable to do so they'll remain unreleased . I will keep everyone updated as things progress

I hope not, I've been planning on a Chicago themed BNSF-Line for a while now and Metra would have to be included

Yea because god forbid a person cannot afford internet for a few days or weeks.

That's not what I was saying. If someone is telling me to drool over something because it won't be release for a long time or can't have it then I'm going to say screw that. I'm not going to sit here crying about it I'm going to move on but, now that the original creator cleared things up I see what's going on....

I was not saying that it was dead forever or for a long period of time. I was just making it clear that it will not be released at the moment... I was saying by saying "For now you have to drool over them" that you need not die because of the annoucement.. No harm intended.

I'm been doing some digging however I can't seem to find out how to add auto running numbers to my locomotive for the exception of the tags in the config. How do i enable my locomotive in 3dsmax to accept autorunning numbers? Do I need to add any attachment points or planes to the mesh to accept auto running numbers?

You actually need 2 tutorials to get the ARN up and running.

First off, go to World Of Trainz [ http://www.worldoftrainz.com/ ] page, then to tutorials, then to "Alpha Number / Back lit Alpha Number tutorial". You won't have to worry about the back lit part for now, unless you are planning to make them back lit. What you are going to end up doing is making planes that are attached to the model, 4 small planes per number board, 4 for each side of the body. You also end up making starting textures for these planes. You also end up making additional textures with Alpha channels so that they can be swapped out for the starting textures.

Then I downloaded the "ARN + SFX for locomotives, 2K4 and 2K6 compatible" file from the TPR goodies section on the forum. This will have the script for the arn and the air compressor sound effects. I haven't tried to do ARN with out the sound effects yet.

What the ARN consists of is a random number generator that you get to tell where it can start and stop picking numbers from and a texture swapping routine.

I know this sounds simple, please read the tutorial carefully.
