Progress with some texturing

Well i know for sure there's going to be a MARC one, however; i'll have to make changes to the mesh being that the Metra is a 3S model and has some variations to the MARC 3C model.

Are there any fundamental differences between these and the MP40? I'm not a big technical person on Trainz(so I've learned). :hehe:

Good question. I haven't a clue to be honest. I just happen to notice the difference between the 3C and 3S because of the rear porch being different.

the differences:
-the MP40PH-3C uses a 16-cylinder EMD 710GB series diesel engine instead of the MPI 645F3B, generating 4000HP instead of 3600.
-the use of EMD's EM2000 computer and associated control system instead of Wabtec/MPI's own system in the MP36.
-the use of an EMD alternator and traction motors.

As for other skins in time other skins will soon emerge. I'm currently in the works of creating a site to host these. In the mean time you can check here for progress updates.

I am curious though. The middle area for the 1 light. Does it flash all the time or only when the ditch lights are activated?

are you talking about the thing between the ditchlights, because that is the lighted numberboard on the MP36PH

RZ are you sure that you've only been working on this for a few days? Because the quality of this locomotive rivals that of those who worked on these for months. :udrool:

On the Metra MP36PH-3S its a flashing strobe light as seen by this green arrow. I'm curious to know if it flashes at all times like the F40 units they have, which has a flashing strobe on the top, or does it flash only when the ditchlights have been activated.

@SouthwestinAZ

Yes lol. I didnt' know what locomotive I was making a week ago, besides the GENSET. This was a request from a poll on TCR in which the members collectively decided that an MP36 was the best choice. I guess i'm fast at rendering because I have about a year under my belt with 3dsmax. I've come to know the program very well and have recently started to really understand the tools it offers. You get better with practice which is why I keep building stuff.

BTW: totally not my photo, used it to show what I was talking about

I hate to be a gimmie pig but could you do the Nippon Shayro's next? I'd love to see what they look like if this is what you can do for an MP36

Honestly no. I'll be working on these MP36s for a while then its back to my gensets to complete them. I'll be back in school at the end of the month so when that point comes I wont have as much time to dedicate to projects like this.
