MOVING 'LOCAL' DIRECTORY TO NEW COMPUTER

Recently I had to replace my old laptop running Windows 7 with a new one running Windows 8. I installed the TS2010 program and updated to the two appropriate service packs. (Windows 8 seem to work well with Trainz2010)
I read in one of the forums that if one copied the Local file (which was close to 20GB) to the new computer with the same name, location I would retain all the assets and sessions?
So over the space of many hours I copied over the wireless between the home computers the local directory to the new computer. (it was located in my "User Data" directory in Trainz on the old LT.
When I went to run my programs I could see some of them, but some were missing updates and new assets, that I had been downloading etc.
Some of the vehicle assets which worked in the old LT unit would not load (they were pink on the vehicle source F7) in surveyor.
I then tried going to the old LT and doing a *.CDP on all my vehicles (Local) and then doing a CDP import through the Content Manager. In many instances, I got "No DATA Base Access" for the new imports as an error message.
So I have several questions, how do I get all my sessions, assets etc transferred to my new computer and still have the same outpput that was operational on my old unit.
Why do some driveable vehicles, like Desire Street Car, Canal Street Car, Cable Cars, nyc busses, Greyhould etc. and a few others show up in Surveyor Assets as a pink print item and will NOT load onto the tracks as a 'locomotive'
Also when adding to the CDP import those vehicles would show up as OPEN FOR EDIT and when committing them, it would not still giving me a "failed to commit changes <kuid##> due to database access error"
Any help would or assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Paperpusher,

With Windows 8 you need to run Trainz as Administrator. This may explain the data access errors.

Ensure that you have installed any updates and patches which may cause you pink content if they're not installed.

Thank-you for those suggestions
Yes, the program is run as Administrator, all updates 49933 are running. I did a quick database update, and more of the sessions are now showing but the assets are still missing.
I am going to change the tdx file and then run another database update and see if this works.

I found an original Folder and copied it to the same "User DATA" directory as the local was installed. I did a quick data base update. Next in Content Manager I did a 'local' search for Missing Dependencies, selected all of them, requested a download, which made the CM search through the Download group for missing items. I recovered about 90%+ of the missing items. My sessions are pretty well complete. I found even assets and sessions, I thought I had lost.
Perhaps, the moderators, can make easy to find / follow instructions that other users can use as to know which files/directories to save (external Hard drive recommended) and where to install them, and what other functions to carry over the program to a new computer when such matters are required. I also found the original tdx. in my user data directory, renamed it and when starting the Trainz, it went to through and did an extensive database update.
