Been there, done that
I see your new to the forums, welcome
I also see from the mapy thing next to your name you only have the original trainz, this is the oldest of the lot, so a lot of the rolling stock wont really roll... if you upgrade then all the stock has animated wheels, however if you do upgrade go for trainz classics upward, as anything below that ( trainz sp2, UTC, Trs2004 and trs2006 ) have no support or download station access ( i dont want to start another argument about this, i'm just stating the facts )
Welcome to the forums and happy trainzing!

Wait a second, i think i JUST worked it out, Trainz Classic is an upgraded version Trainz which features rolling animated wheels, lights, etc. Of course, so I will have to buy Trainz Classic. But If i buy it will all stock from Trainz have all the features from Trainz Classics?
I would for go for TS2010 which is the latest version (that said TS2009 is a good product and slightly cheaper).
But be aware that you need a fairly decent PC to run these versions. Min and Max PC specs are give in the product details.
Personally I like to buy direct from Auran, link to shop here:

Some third party suppliers (e.g. Steam) may require you to have their software installed on your PC in addition to Trainz - which can be a drain on your PC resources. Also some third party suppliers may require you to have the Trainz DVD in your drive all the time. These are anti piracy measures but can cause problems.
Just my personal opinion !
Ok just one question, does TRS2010 have a class37 by any chance?
Hi Ronayne,I heard some pretty good stories about TRS2009 how has she been treating you?
