I'm looking forward to the day I see Downpatrick extended. We'll need a new overbridge to do that but one landowner is being a bit stubborn about the track bed.

Seriously though would be nice. Many years ago when in Newcastle (the one in NI folks) the old rail station was still intact complete with signs, etc. Long years ago of course and many years after closure. i always thought the closure of a main line from Belfast to Newcastle was a disgrace but the pwoers that be had no interest in rail. Don't want to hijack your thread masontaylor and whether preservation or mainline extension is always good news. and I can't wait to get on that Waverly Line when it re-opens.
