I was recently informed that the Montreal group who puts on the model train show under the CN viaduct is planning on hosting another show on February, 21-22, 2009.
Now that TS2009 WBE is out and TEE is around the corner, this time we have something real to show.
The question is, do we want to do a show? I see it as a step towards the future of train simulation. TS2009 has the ease of use from earlier versions with some exciting new features. Some of these are obvious and others are under the hood. As I mentioned to Denis, one of the organizers, WBE was just to whet your appetite. It gives content creators a platform to build objects and routes that will take advantage of these new features. Meanwhile the built-in assets from previous versions can still be used, even if in compatibility mode, to keep you busy while you wait.
Please reply and let me know if you are able to join us for a fun weekend. Do you have a portable system with TS2009 installed? We will probably get a six or eight foot table on which we can demonstrate Trainz. Ideally, one system can loop some demo routes while someone can show how easy it is to create in Surveyor on another system.
