Modula and Cabon

I've really enjoyed the Modula City route that came with TS2010. I'm wondering though, how does that route differ from the Modula City 2.0 being sold by TrainzLand? Is it a demo? What's different?

I'm also interested in the Cabon City route...can someone tell me more about it? I'm impressed enough with Modula that I think Cabon would be a worthwhile investment.

I bought Cabon City a while back and if you love trams you will find this of much interest. If anything it is literally crammed full of tracks and the scenery is first class. It took me a long time to get to the tower and drive to the top. Tried to get there again last night but got lost and gave up! Anyway Cabon City is worth every penny and comes with 2 different trams. Go for it and it is very reasonably priced. If you don't have TRS2009 you can use it as stand alone. Excellent.

yes, the modulla city provided with Trs 09 is a demo , because when you go to surveyor there is not much in the layout except maybe 5 or 6 buildings unlike the real thing

Problems with Modula City

Hi everybody!

I just bought me Modula City V3.0. Installer working ok, route looks good when loaded into TS2010 + SP2 + compatible mode. Just two problems:

Problem 1:
When I want to play Session 1 and zoom in on my NF10 I see a lot of driver commands, yet I get control of the tram. So I told him to continue his schedule, but all I saw in the message window was messages 'could not plot route - junction lever missing'
Problem 2:
Tramcar nf10 #1 has the following error:
Texture 'nf10_body/bump.texture' is missing or could not be loaded for mesh 'NF10_body\NF10_body.im. This file is in fact missing, nevertheless the car looks fine. What causes this error?
Greetings,
Dralex

Dralex,

Problem 1: The junction lever may in fact be missing. Drive the tram yourself, and you'll find the missing lever. ;) The lever may not be missing, but placed in the wrong place, which can also cause the same error message.

Problem 2: Open up the NF10_body for edit in Content Manager, and delete the texture.txt file. This should fix this problem.

As for the missing junction lever, there was in fact a lever missing from a junction: the junction that has to be navigated to reach station PegasusAve-2. Locate this station and go back just around the bend leading to the station. Of course I tried to edit the session, adding the missing lever. Unfortunately the junction itself is in the route layer, so I involuntarily changed the route. I would like the Trainzland guys to look into the matter.
I shall look into a German forum (either here at Auran or at Trainzland or Halcyon) to ask them.

Found the missing lever this way; it is just before you reach Pegasus Ave 2, being unable to reach it because the junction is set straight and you can't change it.
I inserted it, but I think it's up to TrainzLand now to make a new version that would be accessible just for those who bought MC V3.0.
This leads me to another problem:when I want to register with Halcyon Media as advised on p. 25 of the manual I found out that the link is broken.
Anybody from TrainzLand or Halcyon to advise me here?

Dralex

You should be able to get it from Trainzland's site www.trainzland.com if you have bought the full version. I don't know about updates from earlier Modula versions, however, as I found V3.0 in the computer department of a near department store. At Trainzland they will certainly tell you if you ask them.
There is even a V3.5 where all the problems I described have been fixed. I am very happy with it.

Hi,

we're glad to hear that you are happy with our product. If you experience any problems you can always get in contact with us via our webpage http://www.trainzland.net/.

Cabon City is our latest Trainzland addon for Trainz, which features an even larger City and a new tram with working interior (LF1). But since we feel a close relationship to all our products we still provide updates to our older product Modula City.

More information about Cabon City can be found in the Payware Section of this forum, in the Cabon City Forum and here:

I'm confused. I'm asking about Modula City; I bought Classic Cabon City a few weeks ago. The Trainzland site says nothing about there being updated versions of either route. The only Modula City I see being offered is v2.0 with a patch in the Downloads section possibly updating it to v2.3.

Two questions:
1. Can you tell us which assets in Classic Cabon City are not in Modula City as well (assuming CCC is a superset of MC, assetwise)?
2. I just watched the trailer about CCC again and noticed that the LF1, which looks very similar to the Viennese ULF, has no bogeys. Where did these disappear to?

Sorry for the delayed reply, I was quite busy recently.

Sorry, I thought your question regarding Modula City was answerd, and you were also asking about Cabon City.

Anyways - we haven't had the time to update the Website, but you can get Modula City 3.5 by contacting us by mail (see above). Some more info (mainly screenshots for people not talking german) is available on the Halycon (Trainz Distributor for DE/AT/CH) Website: http://www.halycon.de/index.php?do=game&games_id=202&screenshot=1

1) No, your assumption is wrong ;) - CCC has been created from scratch, using sophisticated technical tricks to provide high performance despite a densly populated scenery. In fact the only common assets between Modula City and CCC are the NF10 and GT6 tram, and the route system. But also for most of them we have included an improved version in CCC.

2) Yes, we have been inspired by the Vienna ULF (which I can see daily on my way to work :hehe:). As you might know the prototype has no bogeys too, but fixed wheels:

If you mean you didn't see any wheels in the video, it must have been an optical illusion:

(If any of the moderators feels more comfortable with moving this to the payware section, plese do so)

sorry to be slightly off topic but since the Trainzland people seem to be looking at this thread...

I sent an email off about getting my serial number for cabbon since I lost it in a computer crash (still had the installer just not the serial). And I haven't heard anything back.

I believe they only reply to the email address they have on file as a matter of policy. Try emailing trainzland at gmx.ten

Obviously, you want to reverse that last part of the domain.

Hi Peter,

Did you buy Cabon City from the Trainzland website? If yes please drop us another email at support@trainzland.com maybe your mail got lost. Please also make sure to check your spam folder first, maybe our reply was filtered out. If you did not buy at our website (i.e. you bought from Auran) please get in touch with their support.

Cheers,
David

Hello,

I have a similar problem on Trainz 2010 where the lever disappears on a custom tram route I have been building. When I look at surveyer and when I first start driver every lever is there however when I save and start a day later random levers are missing. Does anyone know why this is happening?
