I've been building model sized routes since 2006. Hell of a passing phase !

I've just re-done the team track into a general freight yard so it might be slightly different to the previous screens.

The Old Line

No speed trees in this one so it should apparently run on anything. Stuff not on the DLS should be available through JR's freeware section.

Thanks eso. Indeed about 20 mph feels right. To me any faster than that feels to fast. This was just a small test train to get a feel for the route and the layout you created. I'm going to play on it some more maybe create a session or 2.

On a side note, you guys are making some nice "Model Trainz" routes.... why not apply that talent to a regular Trainz route?

Perhaps because many of us are mainly model railway enthusiasts? ....

I'm a "cab rider" guy so the Model Trainz doesn't hold a lot of interest to me (don't care for riding in the cab and look out the window and see a brick wall going by). Just wondering if the fun of making a "realistic" route is becoming a forgotten feature of Trainz.

Still, I like the great screenshots in the thread.

I think it is to build a regular real Trainz route is essential to use the DEM mode .... otherwise fantasy maps are just large model railways.

The only issue I have is when you are in the sim on this route, and you hit the number 4 button, you cant move around on the layout...As well as when you are placing trains on the layout...It wont let you move around with that lil compass....


Any way to fix this issue???

Most of those are likely built in to TS12 SP1, you could buy a copy for steam for $1.00 at the moment if you know where to look .
No idea why you can't shift around in free-roam, 99% is on the same height level (even the floors).

Yeah...I dont have the SP1, so that is prolly one of the reasons why it wont work in free roam.....That is my guess

You know, there is still some things missing here that would be found in the typical model railroad environs, a large stack of Athearn and Model Diecasting boxes stacked under the layout, plus other boxes of normal household goods, a huge washer and dryer, a furnace, and other normal things that would impede the normal construction of a model railroad, just something to think about!

Yep, but a stack of boxes laying on their bottoms would do well under the layout, kind of storage of the overage as well as empty boxes, also, the normal stuff we need to work around when really building a model railroad, such as pipes going up the wall, the circuit breaker box or fuse box hanging on the wall, the washer n dryer on one wall!

These were only tryouts. As I said rolling stock not included so in effect, empty boxes with track and plinth included or without as required. These are also generic only. As for white goods etc. I'll let someone else have a go at those.
