Missing splines won’t delete or replace in route.

I have a route in 22PE that somehow got corrupted and white dashes replaced some of the roads. I can’t delete the dashes or move them, or bulk replace them with a road, but can use the select tool to select the dashed spline and it shows in the spline menu as missing spline. Is there any way I can at least delete the white dashes? But by leaving them there for now, I can overlay roads over the dashes to hide them. The route where there’s missing roads is about 40 miles long, but I added on to it with blank DEM’s.

Here's the actual fix for white splines. White splines are actually a type of track.

I got this a while back from James Moody.

The dashed white lines isn't "a missing asset" - it's the asset that Trainz turns to when it can't find the asset it is supposed to draw there. These white lines are, in themselves, an asset. You can find this asset in CM. It's called "Missing spline", and it's by Rob. Open it for edit. Change the KUID from <kuid:523:1124> to <kuid2:523:1124:1>, and remove the whole privileges container (containing the line "permit-listing 0") Then install that asset as if it were a new asset - e.g. drag the folder from windows explorer back onto the CM interface. Once it's installed, revert the original one (you can't commit changes to it as it's a built-in asset). Result: The dashed white lines now show up in the menu, and can be selected just like any other track spline. You could lay some down if you wanted. More to the point, you can now use the 'replace items' tool to change them to any track spline you have installed...

I will add this. When you install the folder, use the install content option. This will save so much time. Also don't panic when the creator is shown as AURAN. I hope this helps some one.

Notes:

<kuid2:523:1124:1> ==== Update from <kuid2:523:1124:2> to <kuid2:523:1124:3> for T:ANE and above. All other procedures apply.

Need to change .texture file using PEV's Images2TGA.

Once you do this, you can then use search and replace and change the splines to whatever you want.

I think I have that installed. This is a different issue where I have the dashed spline as an asset that can be selected, but if I try to do a bulk replace, nothing happens. The splines can't be replaced with anything else and are stuck there. I can't move or delete them. Maybe delete missing assets would get rid of them, but I almost want them there as a template to lay new roads down. There is a tornado watch for the entire northeast tonight as a severe storm is bearing down from the west. I'm in eastern PA.

A tornado watch is in place because of the severe thunderstorms. Sever thunderstorms can and will sometimes cause a tornado to spin up. If this was a warning in place, head for the basement under your stairs, a bathroom and cover your head, or some other interior room if you don't have a basement. Never, ever, ever, ever hide under a bridge during a tornado. This can kill you by sucking you out from under bridge due to the Bernoulli effect of high pressure winds caused by tight spaces.

Anyway back to TRS22. It sounds like the splines you can't click on are sitting on a different layer than the one that's currently selected.

Well the watch for my area ended and we aren't getting any tornadoes, but we are getting heavy rain and storms. If the splines are on a different layer, do I have to go through the layers to find out which layer they are on? I might try that.

That's good to hear. Although severe storms are fun to watch as said from a storm-chaser.

Yes, you'll need to click on each layer. Check the layers panel. You should see different sub-layers listed under the Routes-layer

I found the layer the splines are on but they are acting like a track because I can only move or delete them in the track tab, but the missing splines asset is in the splines tab where the roads are. The missing splines are supposed to be roads. I guess it's lay 40 miles of roads manually or try to troubleshoot further. Something got corrupted in the route in an earlier Trainz version where it caused some roads to be white splines and now they are acting like tracks instead of roads. I can only move or delete them.
